Vladimir Kara-Murza: There were exactly 100 days left before the start of the Winter Olympic Games in Sochi. Today, on the occasion of this event in the Russian regions, festive promotions have been held. The main events took place in Sochi. And tonight, the return counting in the capitals of eight federal districts of Russia began, chronometers at 20.14 Moscow time switched to the "100 days" - it was at this time on February 7 that the opening ceremony of the 2014 Olympics will begin.
100 days before Sochi. Will the Olympics take place in subtropics? We are talking about this with an independent journalist, publicist
Joseph Galperin ; Ecologist, member of the coordination council of the opposition of the first convocation
Evgenia Chirikova . On direct telephone from Sochi - our Sobkor
Andrey Korolev .
Andrei, what events took place tonight, and how did the on the eve of the opening ceremony of the new railway station in Adler?
Andrey Korolev: Today has begun with a little misunderstanding. In the morning, the Sochi bloggers and your humble servant tried to calculate how many days actually remained before the Olympics, and we came to the conclusion that it was too early to celebrate the Olympics today. "100 days before the Olympics" should take place tomorrow if you follow all the arithmetic rules. But the organizers have their own view of this event. This is not to say that the city somehow magnificently marks it. In the evening, at 20 hours 14 minutes Moscow time, at the clock located next to the sea station, the very hours where the countdown is conducted, a small celebration took place. Speech sounded, there were many children, young people, everything looked decent and not particularly pathetic, which is nice.
The city has the president of the International Olympic Committee Thomas Bach, he is known for his restraint. Everything related to his trip is covered quite calmly. Yesterday, Russian President Vladimir Putin and Thomas Bach opened the Adler railway station. They had to open it last year. On November 1 of this year, the first trains to Krasnaya Polyana were supposed to go along the legendary combined road-yield road. These trains will go on November 1 or will not go - we still do not know. Apparently, this will be postponed for a while, since the road has not yet been put into operation, there are so far test events are being held. The opening of the station itself was an event from the bondage category, where Vladimir Putin made a laconic speech that the station was becoming a gate to Olympism, Sochi receives a new breath with the launch of this station. All this, in fact, was limited.
Vladimir Kara-Murza: Zhenya, you play for the boycott of the Olympiad. Explain your position.
Evgenia Chirikova: It seems to me that sport is very cool and beautiful, but politicians should not come to this Olympics. Because 30 defenders of the Arctic are sitting, including citizens from those countries who will take part in this Olympics, and it will be very strange if the person who has planted these people will shake hands with politicians from those countries whose citizens are in prison for the defense of the Arctic. On the other hand, in order to organize this Olympics, I had to destroy the unique natural territories in Sochi. Sport is great, but we run once, jump there and disperse, and then people live in what remains. There is another third point that is very unpleasant to me - this is what is currently called an economic crisis. Money from the Russian economy was very actively in the Olympics, and people who are engaged in real business have very serious non -payments, people delay the salary. It seems to me that the sport should still be folk, and not so-perverted.
Vladimir Kara-Murza: Joseph, you have just returned from the region. What risks are associated with the upcoming Olympics?
Joseph Halperin: First of all, I am a fan, and in any case, wherever these games take place, I would watch them on TV. Even if I really wanted to go there, I can’t, because this is due to crazy restrictions that apply not only to Russian subjects, but also to residents 8 kilometers from these palaces, from Abkhazia. The border with Abkhazia will be closed a month before the start of the Olympics, January 7, and will be open after the closing of the Paralympics, March 31. That is, a pure blockade of an independent state is obtained. In addition, businessmen and Abkhaz society in general had hopes for this Olympiad, they thought that it would give them the opportunity to earn money. Firstly, there are mainly the same visitors from Central Asia who work in Moscow, from Abkhazia there are no workers. The crushed stone that they removed from Abkhazia - its removal as a result violated the balance of Abkhaz rivers, and there were already flooding. That is, Zhto is also a minus for the republic, which wanted to get something from the Olympics as a reward for the August war of 2008.
Now as for Sochi. Bankers told me that at the gas station during the Olympics, fuel will not be sold to drivers of private cars so that they do not drive, so as not to interfere. That is, the Olympiad we have only for those who got to the palace! And of course, in itself the history of the Olympics in Sochi calls for a think about whether we can open the summer Olympics in Murmansk? ..
Vladimir Kara-Murza: Andrey, is it true that they will not refue private transport during the Olympics?
Andrey Korolev: The story is funny, but it is from the fake. Of course not. Everything here will be, and the Olympics will take place, there is no doubt about it. By February 7, everything will be built. And the same as the Adler station, the long -suffering stadium "Fisht", so two -time. This is a huge, pathos structure, and it is built only in order to use it only twice - to open and close games. Further, this stadium is most likely to be dismantled and taken to another place. And whether they will put him somewhere else-no one knows. On February 7, the torch will arrive in Sochi, the heads of state will come. I think that here calls about the boycott are unlikely to be heard. You know the rather strict conditions of the IOC: the countries that boycott the games can be excluded from the International Olympic Committee. There will be a beautiful television picture, there will be President Putin, who will look like the happiest person on this earth. We will see on TV beautiful athletes, beautiful stadiums, we will see the triumph of the sports spirit. But the TV will not show us everything that will happen around the Olympic objects and structures. If you drive through the so -called zones of Olympic hospitality, the Russian state farm, the village of Mirny, zones that are directly in contact with the Olympic Park - you can understand that the Olympiads will not be for sure. There still reigns devastation. All the promises of the authorities that these zones of Olympic hospitality will be put in order will be restored, there will be roads, stormwood and so on - there will be no whole. All these villages will be closed by beautiful advertising shields, banners, and all Olympians and guests of Sochi will not see this.
Vladimir Kara-Murza: But, in my opinion, the heads of states have the right not to come ...
Evgenia Chirikova: Remember 1980. The beautiful Olympics, by the way. Some of the athletes did not come, so what? And they play further, and everything is fine. It's just a will. If the position of our Western colleagues is not hypocritical, if they want human rights, then they should defend this in relation to their own citizens who rushed to protect the Russian north from oil production there. We are beautifully discussing the Olympics, and at this very moment in the Murmansk prison in the torture conditions for them, 30 people are sitting, including foreign citizens. And while citizens of France, England are sitting and tormented, their leaders will be shook Vladimir Vladimirovich - this is just strange!
Vladimir Kara-Murza: Can technical problems interfere with the Olympics?
Joseph Halperin: All these palaces, which are built, are at best designed for the days of the Olympics. What will happen to them next - no one knows. They were not yet really tested, as well as tracks and arenas. I can say that the roads are built there, I got to the border much faster to the airport than usual. It also seemed to me that the zones of the Olympics themselves were completely separated, even visually, from the rest of Sochi. And whether this will be a holiday for the inhabitants of Sochi - I'm not sure. I remember the festival of youth and students in Moscow in 1957, when the Soviet Union opened. Sochi was declared a special zone where armed posts will protect the peace of athletes and those fans who purchased tickets in advance and entered all their data to the so -called "fan passport". They once again swore allegiance to the state through sports, that’s what happened.
Vladimir Kara-Murza: Andrei, do you agree that sports competitions will be inaccessible to residents themselves, and there is nothing to wait for them to wait?
Andrey Korolev: Did anyone really believe that the Olympics was satisfied with Sochi residents? Of course, the Olympiad is arranged for the establishment, it must demonstrate the power of the country, that the leadership has strong people who can make and make decisions. Of course, the Olympiad also demonstrates the financial power of Russia, but what it will turn out later ... As for the reasoning of the inhabitants of Sochi at the household level, there are 50 to 50 opinions here. Many people rejoice that the Olympiad will be here and rejoice at the holiday. The Olympiad is a holiday. But a lot of people are not happy with the Olympics, these are people on whom the Olympics directly hit. It is enough to recall the barbaric resettlement of the inhabitants of the Imereti lowland. Until now, some families, and there were hundreds of families, have not received compensation for demolished houses. It is enough to recall the problems of the environment. Over the years, people are accustomed to living without gas, without water, without elementary household amenities, all this is justified by a certain expediency, the fact that the city is being built, develops. Perhaps this is so, the city is really built, there are a lot of things to build, but at the same time a lot of things built are immediately demolished, because it turns out that it is illegal, unlawful, and the money goes into the sand.
Yes, sports facilities will bring to mind, they will be ready for the Olympics, but the city itself is not ready for it. And Sochi is a business card of the Olympic Games! The city is rummaged. The city center where the city hall is located now resembles just one large front -line trench. A terrible transport problem has been accompanied by Sochi for many years, and it only aggravated with the construction of all kinds of transport interchanges, in which incredible money has been invested. For example, to get to the city center from some roads, you need to go around 10 kilometers in a circle to enter the city from the other side. And so in everything! At this level, Olympic construction hit people. And the Olympiad is not only Sochi, but also surrounding villages, small villages, settlements where people do not feel at all. There, young children still overcome 5-6 kilometers on foot to their schools. For example, children in the village of Ashtyr, in order to get to school, are forced to run across this very legendary and terribly expensive road road, risking to fall under the wheels of cars. Now this road is empty, but it will be opened, and excesses are not excluded.
Vladimir Kara-Murza: A politician
Ivan Starikov joined us. Do you think the Olympics will be held in Sochi?
Ivan Starikov: Since this is the main project of Vladimir Putin, I think it will take place. The Kremlin should take a number of steps towards the West in the coming months so that the threat of the boycott of the Olympics does not become a reality. I think this will be due to the amnesty of people who are sitting in the "swamp business".
Evgenia Chirikova: Ecologist Suren Gazaryan was simply squeezed out of the country, he is now abroad. A criminal case was brought against him, and Suren received a conditional term for making an inscription on the fence that enclosed the natural territory to which citizens should be accessed - and it turned out to be the country of Tkachev. Suren wrote on the fence: "Sanya is a thief!" And for this was in exile. Ecological shift in the North Caucasus, ecologists who really protect nature, including in Sochi, where there is simply a catastrophic state, and almost every member of the "ecological shift" with the center for the fight against extremism is simply active surveillance. This weekend, the All -Russian action "Freedom to the Defenders of the Arctic" was held in 35 cities. In the Maykop secretary of Ekovakhta in the North Caucasus, Vanya Karpenko was put for 5 days for taking pictures of the action at Gazprom, only for the photograph! Vanya announced a hunger strike. With such a nervous approach to ecologists, to their citizens who simply want to preserve nature for their children, to talk about the joy of the Olympic Games is simply strange.
Vladimir Kara-Murza: What are the scale of corruption in preparation for the Olympics?
Joseph Halperin: Boris Nemtsov opened the scale of corruption very well in his report. I know that all possible prices are exceeded hundreds of times. But this is not only the Olympics. Even before 2007, I was in Gelendzhik and saw how the palace for Putin was being built, and for the sake of this palace, fields and forests were demolished in Gelendzhik, an airport was built, which in Gelendzhik was completely not needed, because there are a lot of airfields nearby. This palace is built on the shore under the decay, which is called the Berezovskaya gap. My article was then called "Krasnodar cut." And I found the cottage Tkachev, which was 10 meters from the water border. I went to the environmental prosecutor and began to ask him how much meters were supposed to be according to the law. He says: 50, if closer - a fine and demolish this business. I wrote all this in the article, after which the prosecutor filed a lawsuit against me, that I thus tied his opinion, and now, the poor thing, opposed Tkachev. He sued me, and his wife accidentally worked as deputy chairman of the court. But we still somehow won this court. I want to say that these are traditions. Sochi is just a larger hole in the Russian budget, which allowed those who are around Putin and those around Tkachev.
Vladimir Kara-Murza: What will the period of preparation for the Sochi Olympics be remembered?
Ivan Starikov: The latest sociological surveys show that during these 6 years, since in Guatemala we have received the right to hold these Olympic Games in Russia, the attitude has seriously changed. We remember glee and joy, the feeling of a triumph, but it was obese years, and in 2007 there was the largest economic growth - 8.1 percent of GDP at 60 dollars per barrel. Today, the country is slowly and steadily creeping into an economic recession at 107 dollars for a barrel, there is still something to pay for the security forces, and the patience of the people has nothing. Plus, the monstrous level of corruption and abuse, which was in the construction of the entire complex of Olympic objects. Today, most Russians relate to the Olympics either indifferently or negatively, and this is very bad, because for the Olympiad regime it was to be an example of the national victory and triumph of President Putin, and now, apparently, the Olympics will be held in another atmosphere.
But the main enemy of the Olympics today is nature itself. The same Suren Gazaryan posted on the Internet a video when a few days ago a 6-point storm destroyed the embankment, which, according to the organizers, should become the main place of promenade in the Olympic village. Before that there was a serious flood. And here there may be the main problems. The second problem: 700 thousand cubic meters of snow were prepared for the Olympic Games, but in February, moussons come, rainy, cold winds from the Black Sea, and the Olympians in this sense, it seems to me, will not feel very comfortable. Maybe the weather is lucky, but in general the psychological situation is far from the one in which we in Guatemala received the right to hold games.
Vladimir Kara-Murza: Andrey, tell us about natural disasters in Sochi.
Andrey Korolev: The storm was not 6-point, but only 4-point. I must say that all photo and video materials are devoted to one- the Imereti beach. Now there the Olympstroy state corporation arranges the embankment, rolled up the beach to concrete. It was a unique beach, red -black plants grew on it, which are now ruined. And there, during the summer, the protective structures were destroyed twice by the sea. Not one hundred millions of rubles were spent on the construction of the beach. After the second destruction, the Olympstroy Corporation again requested the government for recovery work. Restored for two weeks, after which everything collapsed again. Everything related to natural disasters is not news for Sochi. And February is marked here by whims of weather, to put it mildly. About a month ago, after several not very large ones, by the way, the storm Sochi simply swam under water. It is possible that in February the same thing can wait for us. I don’t know, maybe in the Kremlin someone walks and prays that the weather is good here, but whether she will be known to God alone. The snow is prepared, indeed, and now the snow begins to gradually compress. More or less you can be calm for the competitions that will be held in the coastal cluster, in the Imereti lowland, in these all sports facilities, luxurious ice palaces.
