Pechegin also ignored the appeals of international organizations on the illegality of the persecution and detention of Magnitsky, which were carried out by the same employees of the Ministry of Internal Affairs, whom Magnitsky accused of corruption. In addition, Pechegin ignored all the appeals addressed to the general prosecutor regarding the persecution of employees and lawyers of Hermitage Capital, as well as the lack of an investigation into the activities of the Ministry of Internal Affairs, convicted of theft of budgetary funds.
