Alexander Tymoshenko is provided asylum in the Czech Republic

Alexander Tymoshenko, the husband of the former Prime Minister of Ukraine Yulia Tymoshenko, was granted asylum in the Czech Republic. This was announced by the representative of the Czech Ministry of the Interior Pavel Novak.

51-year-old Tymoshenko-an entrepreneur, did not engage in political activities. His wife was sentenced to seven years in prison in Kyiv in October 2011 - on charges of abuse of powers when signing gas contracts with Russia.

Earlier, the Czech Republic has already provided the political asylum of Bogdan Danilishin, the former Minister of Economics in the government of Yulia Tymoshenko.
