The finance ministers of the eurozone countries at a meeting in Brussels are discussing the conditions for providing assistance to Spain - for the recapitalization of its banks suffering from a long crisis.
Negotiations are held against the backdrop of further growth of interest rates on Spanish government bonds - which leads to an increase in budget deficit and aggravation of the crisis.
It is expected that the ministers, given the situation, can slightly weaken the requirements for Spain - in particular, to increase the budget deficit limit, the excess of which entails sanctions to 6.3 percent this year. Earlier, Madrid promised that the deficit would be 1 percent lower.
Spain turned to other eurozone countries with an official request for a loan of 100 billion euros to help banks.
