Stevenson was one of the most titled amateur boxers in history. He won three golden Olympic medals - at games in Munich (1972), Montreal (1976) and Moscow (1980). Stevenston three times becomes the world champion (in 1974, 1978, 1986), twice - the champion of the Pan American Games (1975, 1979). Stevenson has repeatedly rejected the proposals of American promoters about the transition to professionals. Recently, Theophylo Stevenson served as vice president of the Cuban Boxing Federation.
