A recent study of the Levada Center showed that 41% of Russians relate to the practice of lifting entrance exams in universities and entering the basis of unified state examinations, and 36% are positive, and over time the number of opponents of the exam is increasing. The number of those who believe that the USE is growing worse than the knowledge of school graduates, in comparison with ordinary exams, there are now 43%, and in 2004 there were half as much (15% of respondents are now in the opposite opinion, and 25% do not see much difference). Almost a third of the respondents believe that with the introduction of the exam, the number of bribes, blat and other abuse has increased at the end of the school and entering universities. “It is obvious that over time the Russians are increasingly disappointed in the USE, since its negative aspects are increasingly manifested,” the sociologists of the Levada Center draw this conclusion.
