Statkevich is at large

The former presidential candidate from the opposition Nikolai Statkevich was released from prison, where he was about five years old. On August 22, President of Belarus Alexander Lukashenko pardoned Statkevich and five more political prisoners. The release of political prisoners was the main condition for normalizing Minsk relations with the West. On October 11, Presidential elections will be held in Belarus.
