Officially declared as the eighth international month of photography in Moscow, the current photobiennale, as always, will last much longer. The first exhibitions of the project are opened for visitors on March 11, and the latter will finish work only on June 27. The organizers say “Vive La France!”, “Retrospectives” and “Prospects”.

The appearance of the first topic is predictable: this is another project in a number of numerous events dedicated to the Year of France in Russia. Within its framework, the photobiennal will show exhibitions of famous photographers of the no less famous Magnum Photos, the first agency uniting photographers working in the report of the reporting shooting.

In the Moscow Manege, one can see the work of the father’s father and the ideological inspirer of the creation of Magnum Photos Henri Cartier-Bresson, the wife of Bresson, the famous Belgian photographer Martina France, the famous American photographer of Russian origin Ellitt Ervitt.

However, the Moscow Biennale is not exhibiting Magnum photographers. Last time, for example, Magnum on the Biennal, a separate zone at the Win-Western was assigned: there was opened up to the 60th anniversary of the foundation of the agency Exhibition of his best photographers. The current Magnum dedicated exhibition will open in the Manege on March 19 and will work until April 18.

By tradition, the photobiennale represents not only already significant and famous photographers, but also opens up new names.

This time, one of the main topics of Biennale - “prospects” - and one of the most democratic and open to all the new exhibition sites of the city - “Fabrika Project” was given to the performance of young photographers. From March 22 to April 25, in three spaces of the project, the hall of the soil machine, the olivier hall and the building 8 will be held six exhibitions.

One of the most interesting among them, representing the French photo artists again, is noteworthy in that these photographers found their fans thanks primarily to the Flickr Internet service, it is used to store photos. These are four young French photographers, and the Toulouse Gallery "Shato d'O" brings them to Moscow.

The main characters of the pictures of Caroline Chevalier are young girls, naked or not, among the trees or in the interior, but everything is as if frightened, alarmed, excessively pale, from milk, translucent skin. Olivier Mirge is not only a photographer, but also a correspondent of several French newspapers who released two books, who, besides this television journalism. Its photo reports are devoted mainly to the acute and political topics. In 2003, he became the winner of the World Press Photo Award for a series that draws a portrait of totalitarian North Korea.

Olivier Mezzer worked as a medical assistant in a public hospital, until he decided to enter the French National School of photographers.

He graduated from it at 31, in 2004, and after that he became a laureate of several awards and festivals. In the pictures of his Nightshot series, the night plans “caught” by him during lonely city walks, the plots of both alarming, sometimes sinister, and humorous.

John Gozar also shot the city and also at night, but not only. In the Pause project, he collected pictures taken on a very long exposure, so that the night darkness and the light of the first rays of the sun were reflected in one frame.

In addition to the French at the Fabrika project, you can also see young Russian photographers. For example, a graduate of the faculty of the VGIK, Natasha Pavlovskaya, will present the exhibition "Missing Space. Donbass": pictures taken in the Donetsk and Lugansk regions tell how, two decades after the collapse of the USSR, the Donetsk basin, one of the largest territories of Soviet prey.

Ivan Mikhailov, a young photographer from Cheboksary, represents the exhibition "Space for loneliness." For this project, he shot people who tell him about his loneliness, against the background of interiors and landscapes of a small provincial city.

The young photographer from Krasnodar Margot Ovcharenko says that she first picked up the camera at the age of 14 and began to shoot because she had no friends. On Biennal, Margo represents the project "Escape", which devoted to its belief that a person should always have the opportunity to escape - from a lesson at school, from work, even from unnecessary relations.

A photographer from St. Petersburg Natasha Zhdanova will show a project for whom she took when she walked around the city, he is called "walks".

No less interesting than the presentation of young photographers will be a retrospective program that tells about the work of both domestic and foreign masters of photography. The Moscow House of Photography specially prepared several retrospective exhibitions of famous photographers for photobiennal.

In the State Museum of Contemporary Art of the Russian Academy of Arts, for example, on March 11, an exhibition dedicated to the 50th anniversary of the Swedish team "Ten photographers" begins to work.

In Sweden, this photo group, many participants of which have already died, became legendary. The four of her photographers - the classic of Swedish photography Hans Hammarscheld, George Oddner (the most, perhaps famous of all 10 photographer and producer of documentary films, filming cinema and Russia), Lennart Ulsson, who worked with Ingmar Bergman, Rune Hassner - received worldwide recognition. But the phenomenon in European photography all ten became as a group.

On March 29, an exhibition of Arkady Shayhet, one of the founders of the Soviet photo report, will open in the art gallery of Zurabneli on March 29: Shayhta published his first photographs in the “Working Newspaper” in 1924. The exhibition "Beginning. 1923-1927" considers the origin of this genre. Many photographs presented on it were shown in 1928 at the Great Film Exhibition "Soviet photography for 10 years", as a result of which 30-year-old Shaikht received an honorary diploma of the first degree.

One of the most long -awaited organizers call the project "Industrial archaeologists" of famous German photographers, specialists in the field of industrial photography Bernd and Hill Beher. It is open from March 10 at the Catherine Cultural Fund.

It is worth paying attention to exhibitions of domestic photographers - our contemporaries, already considered classics. On April 7, the Igor Mukhin exhibition will open in the Gallery "Meglinskaya" on the Vincuration, on March 18 in the "Manege" - the project of Andrei Obokladokoplanikov "Transparent Time". On March 23, the Schusev Museum of Architecture will begin work jointly with a well -known virtual character as Aman Geld project Alexander Slyusarev Project "1 Map 2 Route" (the exhibition will come from the Perm Center for Modern Art).
