The first experiment in an electronic survey of voters using mobile phones is held on Sunday at four polling stations in a closed city of Raduzhny, Vladimir Region during the elections to the regional legislative assembly, according to the website of the Central Election Commission of Russia.
“If the voter agrees to take part in the experiment, the operator at the polling station loads software into a mobile phone using Bluetooth or cable. The voter can launch software until 20.00 local time. The electronic ballot will be displayed on the phone screen, and the voter will be able to make a choice of the word CEC Elvira Ermakova.
Despite the fact that the electronic survey imitates elections, its results will not have legal force, the CEC reports. For an experiment, consultants from among the employees of the election commission were involved. At the polling stations, posters were posted with a listing of general requirements for brands and mobile phones models to participate in an electronic survey.
In the elections of the mayor of Nizhnevartovsk (Khanty-Mansi Autonomous Okrug), for the first time in Russia, an experiment on an electronic survey of voters via the Internet using electronic social cards is being conducted in three polling stations, RIA Novosti reports.
In the Vologda, Tomsk and Volgograd regions, an experimental survey of voters via the Internet is also held with the help of CDs, which are issued at polling stations to those who wish to take part in the survey. A similar experiment was first conducted on the previous single voting day on October 12, 2008 in Novomoskovsk (Tula region).
