We are talking about the production of a compact VW Pointer, the sales of which so far leave much to be desired, and the Skoda Octavia golf class model (Czech Skoda is part of the concern). According to the Pishtsrider, the design capacity of the plant will reach 300 thousand cars a year. At the Moscow representative office of the VW, the details of the project “Gazeta” could not.

Earlier, the Fiat concern said about the desire to invest in Russia. Moreover, the Italians have already signed an agreement with Severstal -Avo on the production of micro -lighting cars (ZMA) in Naberezhnye Chelny of two models of class B - Palio and Albea. By the way, for Palio, the upcoming acquaintance with Russia is not the first. Falstart happened in 1998 - then the release of this model planned to establish gas, but the plans were destroyed by the default.

In Severstal-Auto, Gazeta said that production starts in early 2007. The volumes of production, the cost of the project and the prices for final products are not yet called, however, according to the representative of Severstal-Auto Andrei Koterev, we are talking about full-fledged production. The “screwdriver” stage, in his opinion, will be able to pass. “We have all the necessary equipment and areas for welding, coloring and assembly,” Koterev explains. “We see the great potential of these models, they fall into the fastest growing segment B.” The company representative also added that negotiations on the assembly of the commercial van Doblo are already underway.

Russian experts are subject to both prospects for both foreign enterprises. “In the German concern, they perfectly see that in Russia, under the side of Europe, a fast -growing car market is being formed: over the past year, 575 thousand new foreign cars were bought here. At the same time, we are much closer to China, ”says Valery Tarakanov, General Marketing General Manager for the Rolf Group of Companies. “Italians assembly of inexpensive models also make it possible to quickly gain positions, since the price of Palio and Albea will most likely be at the Renault Logan level.” The analyst did not exclude that Fiat, the Russian sales of which today make up only a few dozen cars a year, can enter the ten most popular brands in Russia in three years.

The fact that the Europeans stirred is a good sign: other companies can follow their example. Now only one German brand is produced in our country - in 1999, BMW assembly lines were launched in Kaliningrad, but all components are coming from Germany. The decision of Volkswagen can be a signal for the same Daimlerchrysler, which will not dare to build a plant in Russia.
