Shostakovich’s works performed by Amarkord -Trios in an atmosphere of a loud anniversary one of the successful and obvious ways not to hit the banal - to perform not the most played works of the anniversary. Or offer the audience unexpected versions of famous works. Both were demonstrated by the Amarkord-Trio ensemble and its partners at a concert dedicated to the centenary of Shostakovich’s birthday in the chamber hall of the House of Music.Although in brackets, after the name "Amarkord -Trio" is written "US - Portugal", this ensemble of our compatriots consists of. Violinist Mikhail Schmidt moved to America in 1989, cellist Heinrich Eleesin and pianist Alexei Yeremin - in 1990 to Portugal. The most famous work of Shostakovich for this composition is the second piano trio of 1944 of Solletinsky’s memory: complex, diverse, piercing. The musicians chose to open the program with the first piano trio (1923) - a youthful one -part composition with obvious traces of the influence of European romantics. At the same time, techniques that will be characteristic of the mature Shostakovich are already distinguishable in it; First of all, a significant strengthening of the initial moods, when they are given not obvious expression.
Next, the vocal cycle "Seven Poems of Alexander Blok" was performed - here the singer Julia Korpacheva joined the trio. This work of the composer cannot be attributed to the number of the most significant, but its parts “we were together” and “secret signs” are distinguished by the genuine beauty, for which the depth is optional. The unevenness of the work is compensated by the dynamism of the composition: in each of the seven parts, singing is accompanied by a different composition of the performers. In the part of the "music", where all three instruments are united, the ensemble was able to put the final exclamation mark with convincing solemnity.
The second branch was given to the last, fifteenth Symphony Shostakovich - a work that summarized the topics, motives and techniques that are important for the composer. The composition was shifted for a piano trio and percussion instruments, made shortly after the premiere of the symphony (1971) Viktor Derevyanko and Mark Pekarsky. True, the name of the latter, which was responsible for the party of drums, was not mentioned in the program - but meanwhile the arrangement emphasizes the role of these tools important for the symphony. Three performers (Dmitry Lukyanov, Alexander Suvorov, Ilya Melikhov) represent a group of drums (there were five in the original version of the drummers), and three more (directly "Amarkord -Chio") - the rest of the orchestra. As a matter of fact, it was the drums that supported the feeling of the orchestra. In the fifteenth symphony, there is no one who is so characteristic of large works of the composer of despair, but there is genuine tragedy, and already mentioned expression, and obvious quotes (so, the theme of the first part of the Russian Wilhelm Tele, the hooliganism of the first piano concert). And frivolous paintings, according to Shostakovich himself, designed to bring to the idea of a toy store, are replaced by gloomy moves that send to Wagner. The piano trio, with the support of drummers, was able to maintain the main elements of this kaleidoscope in a chamber version.
