Recall that earlier negotiations on the construction of the route in this urban area for Formula 1 were conducted.
According to AK&M, industrial enterprises from the Nagatinsky floodplain will be withdrawn for two years, this is primarily the structures of the Likhachev and River Fleet. After the completion of these works, the territory of the floodplain will be prepared for large -scale residential construction. Thus, the Moscow government actually abandoned the intentions to build a route for Formula 1 in the Nagatinsky floodplain, and in July the first 10 wells on the site of the future automotive industry were already drilled.
Even the intervention of man number one in the world of Formula -1 - Bernie Ecclestone did not help the future autodrome. Ecclestone twice flew to Moscow for negotiations regarding the project, but both times the final construction contract was never signed. Despite Luzhkov’s assurances that there were small formalities and the financial conditions must be clarified, there will be no authrome suitable for the stage of the Moscow Grand Prix. At least in the coming years and in the Nagatin floodplain.
REFERENCE
Initially, in the Nagatinsky floodplain, the capital's authorities were going to transfer all the capital's casinos located in residential buildings and in the immediate vicinity of kindergartens, schools and educational institutions. Joseph Ordzhonikidze oversaw this project. However, the case never reached the implementation of the project. Nevertheless, at the approval stage, the city authorities closed several gambling establishments, which caused a sharp discontent that controls this type of business of entrepreneurs. By the way, it was the gambling version that was one of the most promising for representatives of the investigative group that investigated the circumstances of the attempt on Ordzhonikidze in December 2000. Then the metropolitan official was seriously injured.
Formula-1 death history in Russia
Talking about the possible construction in the Nagatin flood of Formula-1 highway began at the end of 2000. Decree of the Moscow Government No. 745 dated 09/19/2000 'On the creation of OJSC, Nagatino' for the construction of the Formula-1 Autotodrome-1 function, the city customer-developer is entrusted to the Nagatino OJSC (100% belongs to the Moscow government). In December 2000, an agreement was signed on the construction of aunodrome in the Nagatinsky floodplain of Moscow and guarantees of the necessary investments between the Moscow government and the TWR Group (Great Britain) company. On May 10, 2001, the owner of Formula 1 Bernie Ecclestone visited Moscow. He personally examined the location of the future autrod and expressed his approval. The peninsula in the Nagatinsky floodplain of the Moscow River, seven kilometers from the center, was recognized as an ideal place for the construction of the Autodrome. On October 18, the track layout developed by TWR Group was approved. According to this project, by 2003, a multi-purpose sports complex should have been built in the Nagatinsky floodplain that included a 3.6 km formula-1-length route, which meets all standards of the International Road Sports Federation (FIA). The construction estimate amounted to 100 million US dollars, the expected volume of foreign investment - $ 1 billion. The Russian Grand Prix of Russia was supposed to appear on the calendar of the World Cup in Formula 1 in 2003. On March 22, 2002, Bernie Ecclestone went to the Moscow City Hall to sign an agreement with officials. However, instead, he faced the Russian reality: it turned out that the construction of the route had not yet begun.
