A review of the new CDs about once every five years in the musical market there is a certain movement associated with the name The Beatles. They will digest and clean analog entries, then they will find a couple of previously unrelated songs. Both for young consumers are useful and the old bitlomanians entertainment. This release called "Love" was expected not without fear: judging by the signals from the studio, the experiments on The Beatles legacy were bold.If it were not for the authoritative name of George Martin, the producer of almost all the Beatle albums, accusations of sacrilege would probably have rained from the public. But you can’t particularly argue with Sir George: he recorded, and to move him, since it went for that. Martin, however, did most of the work, but his son Jilz, who produced Kula Shaker, Inxs and much more, including the Beatle anthology.
The reason for the "Love" was the production of the Cirque du Soleil Theater of the same name: not a musical, but a presentation of Beatles songs. Martin received an offer to re -producing Beatles songs for the performance. And when it turned out that the idea was successful, it was decided to prepare a record.
Martin and his son moved more than a dozen Bitlovsk songs, putting into business previously not used duplicate and demo recordings. Various sound effects were added: the noise of the hall, sea waves, the brushing of the birds.
It turned out a lot of funny: the songs cross, intersect, step on each other, mysteriously turn around. "Within You Without You" sounds against the backdrop of a rhythmic pattern from "Tomorrow Never Knows", "Octopus´s Garden" as if overflowing with "Yellow Submarine", and the most impressive moment is when "Being for the Benefit of Mr. Kite "goes to" I Want You (She´s So Heavy) ".
Some songs are almost no different from the usual versions: "I Want to Hold Your Hand", "I am the Walrus" or "Come Together". At the same time, the “BecAuse” that opens the album in the form of a chapel, and “Sun King” is generally launched backwards, and therefore renamed “Gnik Nus”.
The version of "Strawberry Fields Forever", composed of several fragments, is noteworthy, the first of which is the demos of John Lennon, made under the acoustic guitar. This thing opens up a kind of psychedelic block of the album, although, in truth, the whole album sounds quite psychedelic.
In general, the inveterate bitlives breathed a sigh of relief: the joke was a success. We can say that "Love" is a Magical Mystery Tour on the songs of Beatles.
Depeche Mode a couple of years ago also authorized the remixes of their songs, but this time they decided at the first in their 25-year history of Best of, a collection of the best hits. I don’t know how in other countries, but in Russia the collections of “The Best of Depeche Mode” produce pirates for a long time and regularly. Does it make sense to buy a license selection? It turns out that there is, since there is one previously not published thing on the disk - “Martyr”, recorded in the course of work on the last album. The thing is not high, but it is clear why it was not included in the "Playing The Angel" - there is enough such material without it. Otherwise, the plate is a completely bureal selection of classic things located not in chronological, but in conceptual order: "Personal Jesus", "Just Can´t Get Enure", "Enjoy The Silence" and so on. The absence of many well -known numbers is explained by the subtitle “Volume 1”. He implies that there will be the second part, and maybe the third with the fourth, who knows.
The collection of hits was also released by the American pop electron mobile. Today, this musician with the appearance of the eternal clerk is the star of MTV and FM-radio, each new single is taken on the air with open arms, but ten years ago it was considered a kind of indie-chudak, who still will not decide: either he would be a dijah for ravers, or a grunge on the guitar to play. This compilation is named after the first hit of Mobi - “Go” (1991), in which he put a musical theme from “Twin Peaks” on the dance rhythm. The collection has a couple more things of this period, but the most part is occupied by works from the last three albums - the Star Mobile era.
In the late 1990s, he finally found a “chip” that helped him “find himself”. Moby sampled fragments of the songs of old blues and singers Gospel and immersed them in a lobbying electronic atmosphere (“Natural Blues”, “Why Does My Heart Feel So Bad?” And other tracks from the Play album, which fell on this collection). But, although this technique was successful, it seems that the main ambition of mobility is to write and sing your own songs, to be not a faceless DJ behind the remote control, but a frontman, a singer with a guitar, which he appears at his concerts. At the collection, this side mobs is the songs "Lift Me Up", "We are All Made of Stars", as well as the two previously not published tracks - the version "Slipping away" with the participation of Milen Farmer and stylized under the 1980s "New York", where Debbie Harry from Blondie sings.
On his albums, mobs still tries to keep his face, if not an “experimenter”, then at least a “difficult musician”, balancing his hits with various embossing numbers, but “Very Best of Moby” is a pure pop music served in commodity.
