Most of the inhabitants and experts surveyed by the American media agreed that such an end of the life of 67-year-old George Tiller can be recognized as logical, they have no doubt the reasons for his murder. “He was under pressure all the time, he was constantly threatened. He knew that once his medical activity would cost him his life, ”said Marla Patrick, who worked with George Tiller in the Kansas National Organization to protect women.

Since 1970, Tiller headed his father a medical clinic, in which he provided women with pregnancy abortion services at a late period for medical reasons. Tiller’s clinic is one of three in the USA, where it is allowed to have abortion for a period of more than 21 weeks.

Throughout his career, Tiller was a target for various activists and societies of abortion. In 1985, the clinic building was blown up, in 1991, the opponent of the abortion of Shelni Shannon, sentenced for this, shot its director to 11 years in prison.

Recently, the doctor went everywhere accompanied by a bodyguard, but he came to Sunday service without security. George Tiller had a wife (she sang in a church choir during the murder of her husband), four children and ten grandchildren.

“Whatever our views on such a difficult problem as abortion, it cannot be solved with such monstrous methods,” said US President Barack Obama.

According to American human rights activists, the murder of Tiller is a tragedy, from which opponents of abortion will not be able to extract political benefits, and supporters of abortion received a martyr’s murderer in the person.
