In general, this number was reduced by 2% and amounted to about 1 million at all levels, but funding will be added to each state employee. Places were distributed taking into account the needs of the labor and economy in five years.

In the next academic year, about 525 thousand free places will remain in federal universities. Most of all, the department cut the number of state employees on humanitarian (7.2%) and economic (4.8%) specialties. The Minister of Education and Science Andrei Fursenko said that state regulation in universities will continue: “Specialists in humanitarian and economic specialties are prepared several times more than the labor market requires. This is a signal to the company that applicants, choosing these specialties, can simply be left without work. ”

According to the ministry, in five years, personnel in the field of computer science will be in demand, so the number of state employees is increased by 9.5%. The demand for specialists in natural sciences (3.9%) will grow.

In addition, the college summed up the implementation of the departmental anti -corruption program, begun on May 21, 2007. Within its framework, a commission on combating corruption was created, which is engaged in the expertise of procurement, regulatory acts and bills, and also accepts complaints of citizens. The director of the Department of the Ministry of Education and Science for Management of Affairs and Civil Service, Alexander Kabanov, told the Gazeta correspondent that the commission completed all the tasks for 2007: last year there were not a single complaint in the Federal Antimonopoly Service, although there were five of them a year earlier.
