The book fair Non/Fiction in the central house of the artist today at the Central House of Artists is not the largest, but the most interesting Moscow book exhibition-fair. So far, the autumn and spring - international and Russian, respectively, are amazing in its size, the Non/Fiction Intellectual Literature Fair continues to attract viewers with a good organization and the quality of the products demonstrated. If the organizers have not figured out the first two (who needs these crowds in the All-Russian Central Executive Committee?), Then Expo-Park has long decided for itself, what is the meaning of its project. Non/Fiction is a small holiday of a book arranged for those who love and appreciate these discarded piles of paper dotted with black icons. And, as on a genuine holiday, here the viewer does not encounter at every step with a disrespect for the birthday. No mass-derivatives, no profanity, no portraits of Dontsova throughout the wall. What is happening at the Central House of Sciences is such a Privat Party, where almost exclusively members of the club gather. Nobody will demand a membership ticket, but the stranger will feel somewhat uncomfortable in a little snob atmosphere of this event.
If you leave aside the opportunity to meet the brothers in mind at the Central House of Sciences, they go to Non/Fiction primarily for new products. This year, among the most noticeable ones, a collection dedicated to the memory of Tatyana Bek; The new Nonfix-series of the Hummingbird publishing house “Things in itself”, in which a book with the tempting name “Brief History of Priests” has already been published; Anna Havalda's long -awaited novel “Simply Together” and many other curious publications.
There will be few famous foreign guests at this fair. Perhaps none of the foreign participants will be able to compete with Eric-Emmanuel Schmitt, the French playwright and writer, the author of the philosophical novel “Oscar and Pink Lady”, which was a monospace with Alice Freindlich some time ago in St. Petersburg. In addition to Schmitt, Norwegians and Poles take an active part in the fair. Recently, Non/Fiction, following the example of senior international brothers, made it a rule to invite an “honorary guest”, which this time, as in the autumn Moscow fair, was Poland.
Finally, the winners of several literary and book awards will be announced within the framework of Non/Fiction: Andrei Bely awards, the “Book Man”, Buyberi Awards, as well as Vaksmakher and Leroa-Boleier Fields, established by the French Embassy.
