On the screens a rare guest of the film distribution is a village melodrama "Good people" Alexei Karelin
The premiere of this film was held in Vyborg at the window "Window to Europe". He did not gain prizes, but left the impression of a strong professional work of the film crew and some amazing innovative sanity against the background of most other paintings.
“Good people” - the play of the playwright Vladimir Gurkin, whose works formed the basis of such different works of domestic cinema as “love and pigeons” by Vladimir Menshov and, say, “fatal eggs”, where Gurkin adapted the prose of Mikhail Bulgakov in a slightly crocodile way for director Sergei Lomkin.
10 years ago, the author of the unforgettable setting “Hello, I am your aunt!” Viktor Titov tried to cope with the drama of Gurkin and did not succeed in the public. His "cadril" dragged on the whirlpool of a label of common speech, where it got bogged down in braided language knees. The characters of Gurkin’s characters were all-written from a man at the “inflaiation” in the country and “sticids” (they are pesticides) in the river, and the centuries-old lexemes were weightily, giving the viewer to the ambiguous 90s to understand what real life and what was her cherished truth.
Neither on a similar scope, nor on the topicality of the film directed by Alexei Karelin, it seems, it does not seem to pretend. Directory observes intonational softness, restrained lyricism links with a comic accent and thereby adequately copes with the unchanging influence of Gurkin’s literature on the temperament of what is happening. There are no patriotic quadrilles and lyrical cramps against the background of idyll in the film. And even such an exciting episode as the acute -comic escape of one of the characters from the Caemenitzer, mainly remains behind the scenes. The play has been borrowed by her strong storyline, not only suitable for a successful entreprise, but also quite suitable for another time and even another country - for example, for Italy from Bokkaccio.
One of the first days of the Great Patriotic War, two ghouls from the NKVD are to the Ural farm for two men, on whom the local manager reported. The district police officer warns those about the arrest and advises to escape to the district center - volunteers for war. Those and so long gathered to defend their homeland, but somehow the wives relax at the side, a bathhouse with moonshine, village concerns and a general remoteness from the Arena of Events. In the second act, five years after the end of the war, they finally met those who were supposed to meet, and the turn of amazing vaudeville, stories and finals came, insisting on the fact that there are no people in our king, and there are still good ones.
Despite the fact that the action of “good people” covers the pre -war and post -war period, the film is a completely chamber melodramatic story about husbands and wives, separation and meeting, and only river fogs and a song are responsible for the epic Russian scope.
In this village ensemble, solid acting, among which it is difficult to highlight one one, collectively knead the specifics of the folk nature in a more than traditional manner, which has been moving from the film screen forever, it begins to look almost avant-garde by itself. In any case, the appearance of such a film, albeit in several cinemas, introduces a certain variety to the repertoire, which is reflected in its state in a positively healthy way.
