Most of our compatriots need to update their knowledge to successfully promote career. As the survey conducted by the Superjob.ru research center is specifically for the "newspaper", only 8% of economically active Russians do not experience the need for the so -called upgrade of knowledge. Experts discuss details.
Instinct for training
There is a hypothesis that the desire to teach and increase knowledge is laid down in a person at the level of self -preservation instinct. As the independent psychologist-psychotherapist Natalya Ermachenkova notes, people tend to constantly receive new information, knowledge, skills, process them and use them to one degree or another in real conditions. It can be about both self-education and participation in any educational trainings and seminars.
“There is hardly a person at the so -called active age who would not want new knowledge and impressions,” says Natalya Ermachenkova.
Indeed, a survey conducted by the Superjob.ru portal research center showed that 92% of Russians would like to update their knowledge in various specific areas.
“At the same time, among 8% of respondents who have chosen the answer for myself,“ I find it difficult to answer / I don’t want to answer / I don’t want to update ”, the share of those who have already graduated from any courses and is currently at the stage of understanding the information received,” explains the president of the Superjob.ru recruiting portal Alexei Zakharov.
Guest from the computer world
Now, with the penetration of new words from foreign languages or from various areas of activity, the concept of "updating knowledge" is often replaced by the synonym for the "APGRADE of Knowledge" by the synonym, which, according to the head of the MVA program (master of business administration - master of business administration) of the International Institute of Management Link Natalia Zhavoronkova, is quite acceptable.
“The word“ upgrade ”came to us from the computer industry and means replacing the outdated programs and details of the computer with new ones to increase its power and expand the capabilities of it on it. Similarly, the MVA graduates need an upgrade of knowledge to expand their managerial repertoire and increase the efficiency of their work,” says Natalya Zhavoronkova.
In modern conditions, when reality changes very quickly and non -linearly, the so -called upgrade of knowledge is required quite often. This is especially true for those areas where some new approaches and tools are constantly opening. This also proves a survey conducted by the Superjob.ru portal, from the results of which it is clear that the respondents chose the economy, jurisprudence, accounting, management, finance, personnel management and psychology more than other disciplines (except for a foreign language).
"There is an opinion that people who have received a good system education have a greatly developed ability to self -education.
However, speaking of an upgrade, you should not understand it only as the acquisition of new knowledge and skills and partly as a repetition of the material passed, ”says Natalya Zhavoronkova.
In her opinion, the upgrade of knowledge should also be understood as an immersion in a certain intellectual environment, a community of like-minded people, in which students once studied and exchanged experience.
In addition, the Link International Institute of Management, former students come to two-three-day seminars in order to primarily rethink their own managerial experience and the current situation in their companies. People read a lot, self -figurate, but experience an acute shortage of dialogue with specialists of their level.
“We can say that they experience not only for knowledge, but also for communication. They want to exchange knowledge, skills and emotions with each other through the experience of their companies. That is, for the most part, an upgrade of knowledge is an environment in which there is a rational and emotional component,” says Natalya Zhavoronkova.
Redistering of the brain
The position "Foreign language" in a survey conducted by Superjob.ru chose the largest number of respondents - 19%, which, according to Alexei Zakharov, is not surprising: "Psychologists wanted to renew knowledge in law, lawyers, economists - economists, and people of different professions chose a foreign language, and therefore this item scored most of the points."
But if the essence of the upgrade of knowledge in most areas is understandable, then in relation to the study of a foreign language, this term requires an explanation.
"When people say that they want to make an upgrade of knowledge, to update their foreign language, then this should be understood as the need to bring to the activity of all that these people successfully or unsuccessfully taught them earlier. They need to get into the language environment, replace the previous ineffective teaching methods with effective and thus set up or reconfigure their brain so that all the material received and added recently, - the academic is sure of the academic and their own. Director of the Center for Foreign Languages "System-3" Isabella Lauterpacht.
