According to the results of the summer season, the demand for rest in the Moscow Region fell by more than a third. Due to the crisis, weekend tours and weekly trips to inexpensive boarding houses were in high demand. At the same time, accommodation prices remained the same.
Demand for Moscow Region sanatoriums and boarding houses that sold vouchers at the price of three-star Turkish hotels before the crisis, in the summer of 2009, according to tour operators, by 25-30%. Potential customers chose to spend warm days in the country or stay at the TVs.
A year ago, as Gzt .ru, Sergey Romashkin, general director of Dolphin, Muscovites traveled to rest in the suburbs, interspersing them, depending on their ownness, summer Nice with winter curses or sultry Greece with budget winter Andorrah.
“Trips to weekend and all kinds of corporate parties were very common. Moreover, in a couple of weekends, tourists could spend from 10 to 25 thousand rubles, and the corporate recreation budget was calculated by several thousand dollars. In many hotels, half the profit brought half the profit, ”says Romashkin.
According to him, the first blow of the crisis just fell on the corporate segment. All companies first of all cut the costs of training and rest of their staff to the limit. Now the luxury of conducting a seminar for the Moscow Ring Road can afford representatives of retail and pharmacists. “Tour operators are joking that corporate vacation is saving record sales of headache tablets,” the expert said
According to Romashkin, Muscovites are slowly returning to the "wild rest": going for mushrooms, collecting berries and fishing. It is much cheaper than skating on an ATV, an hour of driving at which is equal to an average daily price of a number in a sanatorium.
In addition, the metropolitan residents became picky in the choice of resting places and sharply reduced the trip budget.
For example, tourists more often began to purchase tourists in the sanatorium of the Moscow Region, including treatment. Tours of the "weekend" are very popular, and trips to nature, lasting 3-4 days. “Weekly tours are the maximum that was acquired by tourists this summer. And although the structure of demand for the Moscow Region has always been similar, it was this summer that this trend was especially bright. Demand, according to our observations, has shifted into a more economical segment. This is one of the main trends, ”Stanislav Frolova, a representative of Star Path, told Tourprom.
According to Valery, the tunic, the general director of the Krista travel company, it is impossible to talk unequivocally about the displacement of demand, but precisely the affordable objects really became more popular. At the same time, despite the crisis, many owners of tourist facilities have not reduced accommodation prices. “Those of the placement objects that threw the prices this year are sold well, and those who raised them have significant difficulties with loading,” said Valery, a tunnel.
According to Romashkin, such an unusual reaction became possible due to the lack of seasonality in the vacation near Moscow. “Owners of hotels and sanatoriums were counting on autumn corporate parties, and when the crisis confused all the plans, they transferred their expectations for the New Year. Few people know how to reduce costs. This is the phenomenon of the Russian market: a crisis in the yard, and prices are rising, ”he says. In his opinion, the hoteliers near Moscow need to take an example from Moscow colleagues, who, adjusting to the situation, changed the price tags several times for a year, given the market conditions.
“Maybe the owners of recreational complexes are more profitable to work with 50% loading and they have additional sources of financing. Sales of tours for the New Year holidays will partially give an answer to this question. In the meantime, prices are not always satisfied with us, ”said GZT .ru Elena Voevodina, General Director of Rosa Vetrov.
On the other hand, according to the interlocutor Gzt .ru, there is a certain category of tourists who will travel in the suburbs, regardless of the economic situation: these are families with children who have no summer cottages, and fans of weekend tours who are ready to save money for infrequent trips to nature.
