Abdul Khalim Saydulaev, the successor to Aslan Maskhadov, was killed as the President of the Independent Ichkeria, the so-called Ichkeria President Abdul-Khalim Sydulaev was killed in Chechnya. Over the 15-year history of this self-proclaimed militants of the republic, he was the fourth supreme ruler. All his predecessors were also killed. At his post, Saydulaev, who replaced Aslan Maskhadova, stayed a little over a year and did not have time to get wide fame. Moreover, despite the loud position, a criminal case was not even instituted against him, he was not listed in the lists of the federal wanted list. But now Saydulaeva was replaced by one of the most bloody Chechen terrorists - the "irreconcilable" Dok Umarov.
The 40-year-old Abdul-Khalim Saydulaev was found in his hometown of Argun, for a long time, as assured, under the full control of the federal forces. The President of Ichkeria with several bodyguards lived in a private house on Svoboda Street in a recently built village.
On Saturday morning, the building was blocked by the units of the police and the FSB. But it was not possible to take Sadulaev alive. A fierce shootout ensued. The militants tried to break through the encirclement, but only two guards were able to leave. Saydulaev himself and one of his henchmen was killed. They suffered losses and storming - a policeman and counterintelligence died. At the battlefield, several Kalashnikov machine guns, Makarov pistols, manual grenades and homemade radio -controlled fuses that bandits are used to undermine the high -explosives were found.
Apparently, in this regard, representatives of the security forces announced that Saydulaev was preparing another attack in the Argun.
How long Sydulaev hid in a house on Svoboda Street is still unknown. “Maybe he went there for only 15 minutes, or maybe he lived for several weeks, we will find out,” the Gazeta told the FSB department in the Chechen Republic.
In turn, the Prime Minister of Chechnya Ramzan Kadyrov said that the data on the whereabouts of Saydulaev with the special services was shared by a person, "close to the so-called President of Ichkeria."
Allegedly, the informant did not have enough money for the dose of heroin. There were no other versions for yesterday.
On Saturday, the prosecutor's office conducted the identification of Saydulaev (for this they attracted his close friends) and issued a decree on his death.
“If the investigation establishes that Saydulaev was involved in terrorism, his body will definitely not be issued to the family for burial and the burial procedure will be carried out in accordance with the norms of the law (in the nameless grave. -“ newspaper ”),” said Chechnya Prosecutor Valery Kuznetsov.
The caution of the statements of the prosecutor is explained by the fact that Saidulaev was not charged, although his name appeared along with Maskhadov and Basayev in the case of the organization of an international extremist network in the south of Russia.
Now the investigators of the prosecutor’s office are “deeply studying” all criminal cases to which Saidulaev could be involved. However, Sheikh Abdul-Khalim (as the militants called Saydulaev) either before or after March 2005, when he took the place of the deceased Aslan Maskhadov, was practically not known as a terrorist.
"He was known as an ideologist. He made a lot with sermons, made religious statements on Ichkeria television between the two Chechen campaigns," the FSB department in Chechnya notes.
Saydulaev was suspected of organizing only one terrorist attack - undermining the trains in the village of Znamenskoye in July 2005, when 14 people were killed (11 special services and 3 children) and 40 were injured.
In general, many people called Saydulaev rather a nominal figure, which had no influence on the gangstone strategy.
His "presidency" was explained by two reasons. On the one hand, after the death of Maskhadov, the militants wanted to maintain a certain idea of the legitimacy of the successor - according to the "Constitution of Ichkeria", they should have become Sydulaev as "the chairman of the Supreme Sharia Court."
On the other hand, for such thugs as Shamil Basayev and Doku Umarov, not tarnished in the terrorist attacks of Saydulaev, it was needed as a person through whom you can try to conduct some negotiations.
Now, it seems, the bandits no longer need no screen. Yesterday it became known that the place of Saydulaev was taken by Doku Umarov himself. Commenting on this news, the plenipotentiary of Chechnya under the President of Russia Ziyad Sabsabi said: "They have no one left, only the butchers."
And Usman Ferzauli, who is the Minister of Foreign Affairs of Ichkeria, now living in Copenhagen, told the newspaper that Umarov would replace Saidulaev, as “demands the constitution of Ichkeria, where it is clearly prescribed: in the event of the death of the president, his place remains the vice president until the next elections.”
According to the emissary of militants, "the next elections will take place as soon as Ichkeria comes to a peace agreement with Russia." Ferzauli also noted that Umarov has not yet been put on the international wanted list through Interpol: "That is, Russia has no complaints about it."
It is also worth saying that the liquidation of Saydulaev was preceded by an exchange of blows in the information war that lasting for many years. The other day, Shamil Basaev again made himself felt through the interdestial interviews and statements controlled by extremists. In one of them, the Chechen terrorist No. 1 declared a lie to Ramzan Kadyrov’s words that a million dollars were paid for the murder of his father, the first president of Chechnya Akhmat Kadyrov. In the mocking manner of Basaev, he told that it cost only 50 thousand dollars, and Ramzan himself costs no more than 25.
Kadyrov sharply activated the actions of the security forces. Chechnya was divided into five sectors, and the special services received the order "to work precisely on the leaders of gangs - Basaev, Saydulaev, Umarov."
The result was not slow to affect.
