Nagatin-Sadovniki-an administrative district in the southern district of Moscow. Located in the quadrangle between the metro Kolomenskaya, Kashirskaya, Warsaw and Nagatinskaya. The population is 69 031 people (according to the data for 2007). A significant part of the district is occupied by industrial facilities, scientific and medical institutions.

The district was formed in 1991 and was named after two former villages near Moscow - Nagatino and Sadovniki. Now there are about 200 apartment buildings, 17 kindergartens , 9 schools , more than 20 industrial enterprises, BMX-Velodrome and only one cultural institution- the state exhibition hall in Kashirka . The district code in the all-Russian classifier of objects of administrative-territorial division ( OKATO ) is 45,296,571,000.

The history of the district

The village of Sadovniki (Garden Sloboda) arose as a place of residence of people who served royal gardens and gardens at a residence in Kolomensky in the XVII-XVIII centuries. After the royal court moved to St. Petersburg, the gardens lost their significance, and the gardeners turned into peasants. In the 1930s, the village became part of the collective farm "Red Gardener-Sadovod".

The village of Nagatino (Nogatino) has been known since the XIV century. Its inhabitants mainly engaged in gardening and grew cattle in the flood meadows. In the 19th century, the village became the center of the Nagatinsky volost. There was a large Old Believer community. After the revolution, the collective farm "Testament Ilyich" was formed in Nagatino, later - "garden giant". In 1940, this territory was connected with Moscow with a tram line, but the Proletarian district of the capital of Nagatino, together with gardeners, was included only in 1960.

The Nagatinskaya embankment, which runs through the territory of the Nagatin-Sadovniki and Nagatinsky Zaton, is the longest embankment in Moscow. Its length is 5.6 km.

The Kolomenskoye park is adjacent to the district, the Park Kolomenskoye, but the Nagatin-Sadovs themselves in this regard can boast of little. The villages, which gave the name to the district, were completely demolished during the reconstruction of 1960-1970-only the illogical location of the streets remained from them. Today, the most impressive architectural structure on the map of the district is the complex of the cancer scientific center on the Kashirsky highway, erected in the 1970s. Also, the 807-meter Nagatinsky metromost is adjacent to the territory of the Nagatin-Sadovniks-the most long similar structure in Moscow. On the site of the house along the Kashirsky highway, 6 Corps 4 is a monument to the victims of the 1999 terrorist act.
