Alien? Mommy!

The image of the humanoid turned out to be a cognitive humanoid template, about 155 cm tall, with a large head with huge slanting eyes, barely distinguishable mouth and gray skin. The descriptions of the “aliens from the cosmos”, which are given by the people supposedly abducted, are very similar. Why? It can be assumed that all the “stolen” were captured by representatives of one civilization. But the psychologist Frederick Malmstrom from the US Air Force Academy found another explanation for this phenomenon: the image of a humanoid is a prototype of a female person who is imprinted in the consciousness of the newborn and helps him to instantly recognize his mother.

It is known that many animals are born with visual templates that help them survive. For example, the chickens that have just hatched from the eggs instinctively hide from the shadow, in the shape of a hawk, and do not react to the shadow of poultry, such as a goose. The newly born child also has congenital reactions. Studies show that up to two months of age, the child reacts to everything that resembles a human face, even if it is a mask of a fabulous monster, while children do not show such a sustainable interest to objects of a different form.

At the same time, the visual acuity of the newborn is much weaker than that of an adult. This is due to the fact that the retina and, in particular, the yellow spot (the area of the retina where the vision of 1.0 is achieved, that is, 100%) is still formed. Immediately after birth, the child reacts only to objects, 7-25 cm removed from him, although two days later objects at a distance of one meter fall into his sphere of attention.

In the early days of life, the child sees everything through the fog, and the outlines of objects seem dissipated. Eye movements in newborns are consistent only after four, and sometimes after eight weeks. Scientists suggest that for some time newborns cannot distinguish between colors, so the whole world seems to them different shades of gray. In a word, if such vision had been observed in an adult, he would have experienced serious difficulties.

Having collected all the data known to modern science about the features of the vision of newborns, the Malmstrom tried to change the photo of the young woman, presenting her as the child sees. The result obtained was a typical "portrait of the alien." Why does this image pop up in consciousness at the time of “contact with the aliens”?

In the article published in Skeptic magazine, Malmstrom draws attention to the fact that all “stolen” say that at the time of abduction they were under hypnotic effects. The condition between sleep and wakefulness is known as hypnoid - it is very similar to a state of hypnosis. In this state, images stored deep in the subconscious - such as the image of the mother through the eyes of a newborn can come to a person. The psychologist claims: "The person of the alien, which is seen by a person in a state between sleep and wakefulness, is generated with the help of the very primitive visual template of the female person, which this person saw immediately after birth."
