In Rus', they also had fun with the public work of the executioner. A hundred years ago, Vladimir Soloviev said: "The death penalty is the last important position that barbaric criminal law (direct transformation of a wild custom) still defends in modern life." This is he about Russia. Our distinguishing feature is a pathological tendency to destroy their own kind. And it is no coincidence that every newly elected parliament puts forward people who would like to warm up by the fire where heretics are burned. This thought occurred to me when I heard a message about the proposal of the parliamentary group "People's Deputy" and its leader Gennady Raikov to abandon the moratorium on the use of "Higher Support".

What happened in Russia that after only four years of absence of executions, we became so acutely missing?

On history, it is known that glorious traditions to chop their heads have kept in vain for centuries in Rus'. For a long time, longer than other peoples, we could not calm down. Only the golden nineteenth century brought liberation from the gallows: in a hundred years, one hundred and fifty people were executed. But at the beginning of the twentieth, everything returned to its circles. At the last king of Nicholas, after the revolutionary events of 1905, four thousand people shot. And it began. Evil, as Seneca warned, fell on the heads of those who commit it. The centennial norm in the peaceful twenties - the thirties now sometimes overlap in one day. The new government in Russia drove the people with his own blood so that he almost choked in it. Only at the end of the twentieth century did we seem to realize that it was time to come to our senses and stop the murder of defenseless citizens by the state. Here, Europe finished this - and nothing, did not collapse, even became humane and much worse than us. And as before Iran or Africa, who still score criminals with stones and burrow into the ground even for treason or petty theft, this is far from the ideal we strive for.

Or aren't we striving? That's because the group "People's Deputy" (sounds like!) And its leader Gennady Raikov turned to the president with the desire to return to Russia their favorite pastime. Many, if you think about it, will have their own reasons to return to the oldest times. The deputies need popularity, because with the unpopular laws that they enter in parliament, voters will not be allowed in the province, or even stones, they will throw stones. All party leaders have the opportunity to make political capital on the calls for executions. There is nothing to talk about law enforcement agencies, they are more handy to return to the usual forms of reprisal. It is easier for investigators to seek self -infection from prisoners (under pain of the towers), and the execution of the investigation error will hide; The prosecutor’s office will finally rise, remembering that there were other Skuratovs, not the current couple - the same Malyuta, who always had something to learn. And the mafiosi with the godfathers will support the undertaking - in order to send on the execution of those who stole less and therefore will not be able to pay off, and it is convenient to liquidate witnesses in this way. And the authorities of all ranks will be easier to deal with political opponents.

Is it necessary for the people who, as experience shows, will first of all lead (invite!) To the slaughter at the request of the so -called people's deputies? But the people, frightened by explosions in the subway and increasing crime, are easy to plug the throat, especially on the eve of the crisis, when not only gasoline, but also overseas chicken legs may not be enough. And here - the sweet feeling of revenge - to someone else for everything that the era did with you. And if on television this very execution is shown, then there will be an opportunity, as the ancient philosopher claims, "a good time."

Well, gentlemen, it happens to us! You can refer to an ozone hole, to solar activity, for bad summer, harsh autumn and a series of recent disasters, to the upcoming oil crisis, which will inevitably lead to a food crisis ...

I believe, however, the true reason is different: some deputies have long come across a solid hand that would bring an iron order in the country. And their craving for a strong hand coincides with the desire to try society, and the new president to the power of the "iron shuriks" going to power.
