They distributed the prizes of the "Golden Season" to a variety of theater awards that existed in today's Moscow, another, this time spectator was added. The prize was called the Golden Season, and the site of the first presentation in its history was the Club “Theater + TV”, located in the Central House of Writers. The choice of the best setting of the season here was provided to the audience, who, after the end of the performance, conscientiously filled out the profiles and set the corresponding score. The case, in general, is not new - it is according to the results of the survey for many years in a row that the prizes of the audience sympathy at the festivals “Golden Mask”, “New Drama” and “Net” are presented.

At the ceremony held at the Club “Theater + TV”, the audience had the most obsolete mood. The list of nominees for the Golden Season fell with a total score of 40 Moscow performances (a similar ceremony will be held in St. Petersburg - 30 productions are selected there). Moreover, they got into this list not only the work of the ending season, but also some very ancients. For example, the “thunderstorm” in Mtuz, for which Henrietta Yanovskaya received the Crystal Turandot Award ten years ago. Or the “city” of Evgeny Grishkovts, staged by Joseph Raichelgaus in 2002. One way or another, the first laureate of the Golden Season was the performance of Alexei Borodin based on B. Akunin’s play “Yin and Yang. White version. Black version ”, set up last season at the Russian Youth Theater. The leading ceremonies Maxim Vitorgan and Sergey Frolov called Borodin himself and his jubilant actors. They were awarded the honorary diploma of the Golden Season and a cash prize of 12 thousand dollars, which, under the terms of the competition, should be spent on a new production. Borodin politely thanked, saying that, of course, any performance costs the theater in a much larger amount, but in sewing six costumes in the play “The Coast of Utopia” based on the play by Tom Stoppard, this money is undoubtedly enough.

During the ceremony, not only the best performance was noted, but also the best viewer. As part of the Golden Season, the public was proposed to write its own reviews of the performances. Most of these reviews are more suitable for the partition of humor, and the leading ceremonies made the audience with the chosen pearls all evening (“You can’t spoil the brilliant play”, “The scenery wants to be better”, etc.). But in the end they announced the winner: they became a girl who wrote a review of the play “Practice” “Oxygen”. On behalf of the Golden Season, she was awarded a trip to the Avignon Theater Festival.
