Oleg Kusov. Ingushetia :
Massive bombing of Chechen settlements led to massive deaths of civilians. Sanitary services are working today on the ruins of the village of Komsomolsky Urus-Martan district. To date, they have discovered 248 corpses of Chechens; corpses are found in basements, at the site of destroyed houses, and in reservoirs. The military claims that most of those killed were fighters from Chechen detachments. According to them, among those killed there were Slavs, including a young woman. The corpses of Russian servicemen were also found on the territory of the village. According to official data, eight military corpses were found. It is possible that not all the bodies of the dead have been discovered in the ruins of Komsomolskoye. The time frame for their search is running out - warm weather has arrived in Chechnya. and the republic is facing a difficult epidemiological situation.
Over the course of several days, military orderlies buried almost 300 carcasses of animals killed during the bombing in burial grounds around the village of Komsomolskoye. An epidemic of typhoid fever began in the neighboring Achkhoy-Martan region of Chechnya. 74 cases of the disease were identified. The military was able to provide medical care to only 50 residents. Today in Chechnya many rivers are contaminated, including the main one, the Sunzha. Military orderlies fear that in the warm season, epidemics of infectious diseases may spread to neighboring Dagestan, through whose territory the waters of Chechen rivers flow into the Caspian Sea.
