Political prisoner Alexander Dotsenko, convicted of distributing anti-war leaflets, died after suffering a heart attack in the colony. This was reported to his support group.
“Sasha is no more. He left us at 16:00,”
- said relatives of the political prisoner.
Dotsenko suffered a massive heart attack on February 12 in the colony, after which he was in a coma in the hospital. On February 17, his sedation was reduced and his heart rhythm was found to be worsening. On February 18, the political prisoner became worse; he was given anesthesia again, replacing the drugs with stronger ones.
In 2024, 63-year-old jeweler from Gatchina Alexander Dotsenko was sentenced to three years in a penal colony under the article of “calls for terrorism.” His wife Anastasia Dyudyaeva was sentenced to three and a half years in a settlement colony under the same article.
According to investigators, the couple laid out napkins with the words “Putinyaku for Gilyak” in the Lenta store in St. Petersburg. The accused denied any involvement. Even a handwriting expert from the prosecution doubted their authorship, Mediazona noted .
