Ukraine received guarantees from the United States that American weapons intended for Kyiv would not be redirected to the Middle East. This was stated by Ukrainian Foreign Minister Andriy Sibiga in an interview with Ukrinform.
As Sibiga emphasized, the corresponding assurances were made by US Secretary of State Marco Rubio during the G7 Foreign Ministers' Summit, which took place on March 26 and 27 in France. “It was stated at the level of Secretary of State Rubio that nothing was redirected anywhere from this program to other geographical corners and from the funds, from the weapons that are intended for Ukraine. As of today, there are no plans for redirection,” Sibiga said.
The minister also said that another country (he did not specify which one) had joined in financing the American weapons program for Ukraine.
Since the summer of 2025, Ukraine has been receiving weapons from the United States under the PURL (Prioritized Ukraine Requirements List) program. The scheme works like this: Kyiv compiles lists of weapons that it needs first, after which NATO coordinates purchases from the United States using funds from partner countries.
After a meeting of G7 foreign ministers, Rubio publicly admitted that weapons destined for Ukraine could be redirected to the Middle East for use in the war with Iran. “That hasn't happened yet. Nothing has been forwarded yet. But it can happen,” Rubio said.
The Secretary of State emphasized that the weapons in question are American, and the United States disposes of them, focusing primarily on its own needs. He recalled that the United States sells these weapons to Ukraine for money, and does not supply them for free.
Politico wrote on March 27, citing sources, that the United States warned European allies about a possible suspension of supplies to Ukraine in the coming months. First of all, the publication noted, reductions may affect interceptor missiles for Partiot systems, which are critical for Ukraine’s defense capability.
According to Ukrainian President Vladimir Zelensky, the United States and its allies in the Middle East used more than 800 Patriot missiles in the first five days of the war against Iran alone. For comparison, Ukraine received only 600 such missiles from Western countries during the four years of war with Russia.
Ukrainian drones have attacked the port in the village of Ust-Luga at least three times over the past week. It is Russia's largest port on the Baltic Sea, from where oil and petroleum products, as well as coal, iron ore and fertilizers are exported.
After all the attacks (the last one was tonight), severe fires started in the port. Residents of the Leningrad region complain about smog and a burning smell.

Peter (Moscow) . I am a citizen of Russia, an aggressor country. I didn't leave in 2014 or 2022. I did not go to protest rallies. I work and pay taxes. I am an accomplice to the war that is going on.
I'm backed into a corner. I am not welcome anywhere in the world. Going out into the street with a civic position means losing your health, and possibly your life. I won't be exchanged. Nobody needs me.
Now they are writing about hundreds of thousands of dead. They are the color of their nations. I have no right to put myself next to them. But I know that there are millions like me. Those who see, understand and do nothing. Not out of agreement. From a corner with no way out. An exit for which you can’t pay for everyone.
There will be no conclusions, requests or statements here. This is just the look of one of those who knows that he is guilty and knows that he is driven.
