The criminal case against the former head of the Bank of Russia branch for Ingushetia, Magomed-Bek Uzhakhov, has been transferred to court. He is accused of abuse of power related to the theft of bank property by his relative.
According to the prosecutor's office, a relative of Uzhakhov, who worked for him, took out the property of the Bank of Russia under the pretext of repair work, and then sold it via the Internet. During the period from February 2023 to October 2024, the bank suffered damage amounting to more than 4 million rubles.
Security officials believe that Uzhakhov was aware of his relative’s crimes, but did not take measures to dismiss him and, moreover, tried to hide the theft by forcing his subordinates to falsify accounting documents. The case will be considered by the Magassky District Court.
