On Thursday, August 29, one of the halls of the MAKS press center was filled with energetic, emotional people, many of whom were in the uniform of military pilots - these were former and current test pilots who gathered for Test Day.

Head of LII Evgeniy Pushkarsky explained:

Traditionally, at MAKS, Thursday is declared Testers' Day, and on this day test pilots from all over Russia gather in the MAKS press center. There is no professional holiday for testers in the country, and at one of the MAKS pilots decided to hold their Testers Day at MAKS on Thursdays. In particular, today a large aircraft from the State Flight Test Center (GLITs) with test pilots, former and current, arrived at MAKS. LII im. Gromova and numerous pilots who arrived from various enterprises, as well as veterans. This event, a platform for communication between testers, consists of a scientific conference, which was held in the press center, where problematic issues were discussed and experiences were exchanged. Veterans suggested contacting the government of the country to establish a professional holiday - Testers' Day.
Next on the program for the testers is familiarization with the MAKS exposition, and then a gathering for informal communication.
I met two meeting participants who briefly introduced themselves. Vladimir Yurchenko, Hero of Russia, reserve colonel, 1st class test pilot, first flew in GLITs, in Akhtubinsk, then in Chkalovsk.
Vladimir Yutyupov, reserve colonel, test pilot 1st class, worked at the LII, then at the Kazan aircraft plant, then as an inspector in the service of the chief of armaments, and is now employed at the IRKUT corporation. Both graduated from the Barnaul Aviation School, have not seen each other for a long time, it is not possible to come to every MAKS on Test Day, and today both are glad to meet. According to Yurchenko, the initiative to hold Test Test Days at MAKS belonged to Reserve Lieutenant General Yuri Klishin, when he was the head of the Flight Research Institute.
