There was another riot in the State Duma last week. This time, the drivers of deputy cars who were not satisfied with the working conditions distinguished themselves.
Communist deputy Anatoly Lokot warned his colleagues about the impending strike right in the plenary hall. The Duma majority accused the head of the LDPR, Vladimir Zhirinovsky, of incitement and rushed to resolve the conflict. They have succeeded so far: drivers were delayed by only 2 hours early last Thursday morning. True, some deputies played it safe and came to work in their personal cars: Lexuses, Range Rovers, and Infiniti appeared in front of the entrance to the State Duma.
This is not the first time that employees of the Gema company, a subsidiary of Schetspetstrans LLC, with which an agreement has been concluded for the transportation of parliamentarians, have become the subject of discussion on Okhotny Ryad. At the beginning of last year, when parliamentarians were no longer served at Automotive Plant No. 1 (the former garage of the CPSU Central Committee), they experienced all the “delights” of a private service. Then they didn’t like the fact that “Schetspetstrans” had “a lot of migrant workers who don’t know Moscow, some of them don’t even have a place to live, so they spend the night right in their cars.” However, the company retained the contract.
The speaker, his deputies, heads of committees and faction leaders are driven to work in a Mercedes C500, while ordinary deputies are left with an Audi A6 and Volkswagen Passat.
– This time the driver’s cup of patience was overflowing with the order to actually reduce wages.
People were offered to switch to hourly wages starting in the new year, setting the cost of an hour at 50 rubles. With a classic 8-hour working day, this is 8 thousand rubles a month,” said the essence of the conflict, Socialist Revolutionary deputy Oleg Shein. “But there are very large overtime hours, exceeding the standards provided for by law by approximately more than 10 times.
Drivers work 15 hours a day. This does not take into account the time when they get home - and the base is located very inconveniently, on the outskirts of the city. If overtime is 7 hours a day, it is easy to calculate that overtime per month is about 140 hours. According to labor legislation, overtime should not exceed 120 hours per year. And here in a month it exceeds the annual norm! At the same time, there are also delays in wage payments.
According to the deputy, the State Duma entered into a contract with Schetspetstrans, which clearly indicated not the specific salary of drivers, but the general wage fund. However, the hourly innovation was only the last straw. As driver Anatoly Drakon said, they have to pay out of their own pocket a deductible for accidents, which reaches up to $1 thousand, buy and clean work clothes (formal suits, ties) and have to stand in line for a car wash for two hours every day after work. His colleagues confirmed that for violation of the dress code, for example, unclean shoes, the fine is 5 thousand rubles.
“For now, my hour costs 140 rubles, and in order to somehow feed my family, I work 14 hours a day and six days a week,” says the driver.
By the way, Dragon works with the LDPR faction, hence the rumor about Zhirinovsky’s involvement in the driver’s riot. However, the faction’s press service stated that their leader’s driver does not work for Schecktspetstrans at all. The company itself denies the actual reduction in wages for its employees. They claim that this is only about optimizing the form of payment.
But thanks to the light hand of the communist Viktor Ilyukhin, a rumor began to circulate in the Duma that Senator Lyudmila Narusova was related to Schecktspetstrans. The office of Ksyusha Sobchak’s mother denies this information and even complains that Lyudmila Borisovna herself was waiting for her driver while he and his colleagues were on strike. The Duma opposition is still going to figure out who is the owner of Gema and why the media, in addition to Narusova, also name St. Petersburg Governor Valentina Matvienko among the owners.
