I don't like it when girls smoke. I don't like it when boys smoke. I don’t like it at all when young people smoke. As for adults of both sexes, I don’t care at all whether they smoke or not. And I was very surprised - it’s real! - I look at the men who declare that a woman should not smoke. Worse: “I don’t allow her!”

What does “shouldn’t” mean? What does “I don’t allow” mean? What if she wants to? If she suffers from the fact that all her colleagues smoke at work? In the smoking room. And then all the gossip, all the news is gone. And how offended she must be to find out that Katya is pregnant, the last one!

Or someone asks her: “Alla, why don’t you smoke?” What should she answer? “My husband won’t let me”? Of course, I don’t really understand how presentable such a formulation is among women, but for some reason it seems to me that there is little good in it.

Then what? “Smoking is harmful”? It's harmful, of course. Nobody argues. But to breathe the air of Moscow in winter, when thousands of tons of chemicals are poured onto the streets, from which the snow melts, in which the heavy-duty paint of road markings dissolves... Excuse me. I'd rather smoke.

The only possible answer is: “I don’t like it,” “I don’t want it.” Acceptable and understandable. Everything else is bullshit.
