Which media can you trust?

They say that the Internet will sooner or later “kill” all traditional media. So the analytical company TNS has calculated: the Yandex portal for the first time has become the most popular media resource in Russia, even surpassing Channel One TV by a million visits per day! “Which media do you trust more?” – we asked the celebrities.

Oscar Kuchera, TV and radio presenter, actor:

– Unfortunately, there have been a lot of vulgar and uninteresting programs on TV lately; there is practically nothing to watch. That's why I prefer to listen to the radio. This is exciting, and at the same time you can do some of your own things, but I have practically no free time to read news on the Internet.

Viktor Ponedelnik, football player, author of the “golden goal” of the USSR national team in the 1960 European Championship final:

– It’s not a matter of trust, but what kind of news I expect to find out - good or bad. If, for example, the Russian national football team lost to someone, then I get so upset that I don’t read the newspapers or watch TV. If our results are excellent, then I’ll watch the report on TV and read all the notes about the match with pleasure.

I almost don’t use the Internet as a media: not because I’m “not from that” generation, but simply on TV, in my opinion, any story is presented in more detail.

Lyubov Tikhomirova, actress:

– Imagine, I only recently found out: it turns out that the TV in my house didn’t work for 5 years! The antenna broke a long time ago, and it turned out completely by accident: one of the guests asked to turn on some kind of program. When everything was fixed, all I did for the whole evening was watch all the channels in a row. I came to the conclusion: well, it’s okay that I didn’t spend the last five years of my life on this, although I found a lot of interesting things. Usually I look up everything I need on the Internet. And there I actively maintain my pages on social networks.

Victoria Komova, world champion in artistic gymnastics:

– I like the Internet because you can watch any event at a time convenient for you; if something is unclear or stuck in your soul, you can play the video again and again. Well, and most importantly, there are also advertisements on Internet TV channels, but it’s so easy to rewind or skip them altogether! Although, of course, it is very nice if reports about the victories of Russian athletes are shown on TV - after all, this is probably more respectable and honorable for now. It’s just a pity that sometimes journalists get confused in our terms or biographies, but all types of media make such mistakes.

Lyudmila Ryumina, singer, People's Artist of the RSFSR:

– The main thing in everything is balance. If you have the opportunity to watch something on TV and then read about it in the newspaper, then why choose one? This way you can clarify the information, compare it, and draw your own conclusion about which media is more trustworthy today, where history is reflected most fully.
