It's easier for us to shoot ourselves
Headrests in a car, according to many, are one of the elements of interior decoration. It is appropriate to hang a snow-white cloth or just a stand-alone cover on the headrest, thereby bringing it closer to a regular pillow, because from the name it follows that this is the part of the seat that will support the head of a tired driver in the absence of more appropriate bedding. Not all drivers realize that the head restraint is the most important element of a car’s passive safety. And if, moreover, on a VAZ “six”, for example, the headrests cannot perform any useful function at all, then where does the suspicion come from that this thing is for business, and not for beauty! Our drivers install head restraints incorrectly in 41 percent of cars. As a result, they all have a chance of getting a fracture of the base of the skull in an accident, which, as a rule, is incompatible with life. The question is, what is the right way? To avoid injury in an accident, the top edge of the head restraint should be 10.5 cm above the top edge of the ear. Therefore, the most correct thing is to grab a ruler right now, some friend or relative, and together set the headrest to the desired height. But if head restraints are for beauty, then seat belts are generally only for the traffic police: this is when they have nothing else to “criticize about”. To be fair, it is worth noting that belts are considered an infringement of the individual in many countries. But if in our country it is not particularly customary to combat the “unbelted” behavior of the population, then, say, in Canada the police do not get tired of coming up with new ways of influence and coercion. Those who are undisciplined are marked with a bright tag that should always be visible. That is, a driver, once caught trying to breathe deeply while driving, is sentenced to wear a colorful brand that every Canadian will see a mile away. The police believe that even if the population does not bother to point a finger at the marked person, the driver himself will find such an insignia very unpleasant, which will have an educational and punitive effect on the psyche. Well, those who dare to hide the tag will be fined - $50 for the first time, and $200 for the second and subsequent times. The new Russians in such a situation would begin to shoot back. In general, they would be offended. |
