What Russian doesn't like driving fast?.. Especially if it's a child on rollerblades or on a skateboard.
This is not the roar of the cosmodrome - these are small people rattling their rollers in the yard, or even the entire plastic protection - on the asphalt. Total hobby. For parents - care and ruin. There's no escape.
But before you buy, it’s worth finding out what exactly we are buying. Rollers consist of a boot (the American version is “soft” with lacing, the European version is “hard” with a fastener) with an insert-boot, a frame for attaching wheels (made of plastic, metal or complex composite materials), wheels (for beginner skaters, their diameter is 70-72 mm) and, perhaps most importantly, bearings that control the movement. Children's skates are not designed for extremely complex tricks. But the boots “grow” with their owner: as a rule, there are rollers that “stretch” from 28 to 32 sizes and from 32 to 35. In particularly reliable models, not only the boot, but also the frame extends.
The most affordable videos (up to 1,500 rubles) are Chinese. However, Maxim Ivanov, a sports product specialist at Adidas, warns: “A poisonous bright color is the best sign of poor quality.” “Bad” means that the attached wheels will quickly fall off, and if a bearing falls apart while riding or your foot in a poorly securing boot turns upside down, even protection will not save you from injury. True, if the child does not strive to become a rollerblading virtuoso, you can stop at this option. It’s just important not to buy a pair with obvious defects: the screws and rivets on the frame are displaced or loose (the frame will quickly break), and the wheels “walk” (the bearings will easily fall off them).
Reliable “wheels” are bought in specialized stores, where entry on roller skates is not only not prohibited, but is also encouraged. Experienced consultants, avid skaters themselves, will help you choose a model. Transformer, Xpander or Convertible rollers will cost 2000-3500 rubles. Beautiful interchangeable helium wheels make the models durable: the quick-wearing outer wheels can be moved to the middle, and when the child learns to ride, they can be completely replaced with high-speed wheels of a larger diameter.
Skateboards are no longer in favor. But they also have their fans. When choosing a wheeled board, you should pay attention to its weight (the lighter it is, the easier it is to master) and the special surface coating to prevent the shoes from slipping. The cheapest models cost about 1000 rubles. But a skateboarder cannot do without reliable sneakers or special boots.
And don’t forget about protective equipment - knee pads, elbow pads, helmets and gloves. The view is, of course, fantastic, but neither a beginner nor a wheeled sport professional can do without them. Cheap protection is made of low-quality plastic that does not withstand impact. It's better not to save money here.
