Recently, Swedish scientists from the technical consulting company SWECO exposed all the ins and outs of Santa Claus (aka Per Noel, aka Father Frost, etc.) - from the true place of residence of this character to the speed of his movement around the planet.
A huge amount of work has been done. Experts even took into account such points as the speed of the Earth’s rotation and the number of children living in different countries. The computers overheated, but eventually produced the result. It turned out that old Santa does not live in the cool Finnish town of Rovaniemi, as was thought, but in northern Kyrgyzstan.
“The real Santa cannot be based next to the North Pole,” says SWECO representative Anders Larsson. “In this case, he would never have had time to deliver gifts to all his recipients.” To cope with his mission, he needs to live somewhere on the border of Kyrgyzstan and Kazakhstan, in the mountains.
Moreover, Grandfather must be unimaginably fast - much faster than any superman from the comics! After all, he needs to keep up with the 2.5 billion families where theoretically obedient children live, otherwise some of them will be left without holiday surprises. An old man should spend no more than 34 microseconds on each family. Is it clear now why no one has seen the real Santa (aka Father Frost)? The eye simply does not have time to fix an object moving at such speed!
As for the fabulous reindeer that Santa rides around the world, these are real monsters. Ordinary reindeer will never reach a speed of 5.8 thousand kilometers per second, but these can! And if we also take into account the total tonnage of the gifts being delivered, the power of the team will be comparable to a column of several hundred heavy-duty vehicles.
