Captain of the Russian national team Andrei Arshavin answered questions from visitors to his official website. One of the readers, who did not give his name, asked the famous football player the following question: “Andrey, as a child I studied at Smena, just like you! My coach was V.V. Vilde. I was born in 1979, I remember you and I even went to a tournament in Turku at the same time! And I remember how you played then (with great desire) and I watch with sadness how you play now (as if you were doing a boring job). What's going on, Andrey? Tired of everything? Is there nothing else to strive for?
Arshavin remembered the anonymous person and wrote him an answer: “No, I’m not tired of football. Turku? Yes, I remember when you and I went to a tournament in Finland in ’79.”
This is not the first time that Arshavin has been asked a question by his acquaintances from youth teams. Earlier, one of the guests of the football player’s official website said that he keeps photographs with the future captain of the Russian national team from the time he studied at a football school.
And once again, Arshavin’s classmates do not hide their disappointment with the game he has demonstrated as part of London’s Arsenal and the Russian national team in recent years.
