“A Turkish mullah claims that men without beards cause “indecent thoughts” in other men because they resemble women” is a meme circulating on the Internet. And it doesn’t matter so much whether it’s true or fake. It is important that everyone has their own understanding of what “traditional values” humanity should descend to (or rise to, as appropriate).
One State Duma deputy decided to make waves in Russia regarding a mandatory dress code for artists. And she sent a letter to the Ministry of Culture: isn’t it time, comrades, to take the bulls and especially the chicks (singing) by the horns and other piquant places sticking out everywhere? This is a fertile time for hypocrites; you can make a good career out of hypocrisy. The woman was inspired by Buzova’s ass, photographed at some provincial concert and virally distributed on the Internet like a meme with a mullah. Buzov’s suit, in terms of openness, was quite comparable to the average closed swimsuit in which Russian women sunbathe on the beaches (by the way, I wonder what the Turkish mullah thinks about such a depraved way of relaxing at sea). But what kind of deputy are you if you don’t find freedom somewhere and don’t snitch?
It is not known for certain whether the ministry assembled an expert council to look at Buzova’s ass. But last week the deputy said that the department supported her. Looking at the papers from the Ministry of Culture turned out to be less exciting compared to the “loose” robes of the singing women, but after studying them, I had to come to the conclusion that the Ministry of Culture was not going to introduce any dress code, as many reported. The deputy was encouraged that she was doing a good job, doing a good job, and recommended that the regional authorities pay attention to the appearance of the artists. That is, also look at them.
The department has no powers or leverage over commercial concerts. Reflection on “naked parties” and “the wrong door” comes either from the presidential administration or directly from the Kremlin. But there are no laws on this matter at this level, and even a rapper wearing only one sock was punished “on the basis of the rules.” The rule is this: if one or more VIP spectators who have access to the oxygen shutoff didn’t like it, then the rest of the Russians have nothing to watch. Or even like this: we’ll watch, but here’s some figurines for you, our foolish ones. Artists, of course, are not immune from the appearance of the Staraya Ploshchad modeling agency. And what, by and large, are we all insured against now?
