Growing healthy and strong seedlings at home is not easy. However, if you create all the necessary conditions for it, everything will definitely work out. At the first shoots, take care of the lighting in the room. Seedlings need to be grown in as bright a place as possible. Otherwise, the seedlings will be pale, with long and stunted stems. Do not forget that in the first two to three days, seedlings need round-the-clock lighting. In the following days and before planting in the ground, lighting in the room with seedlings should last 15–16 hours a day.

The main thing when seedlings appear is to prevent dryness. In the rooms where the seedlings are located, place containers with water, hang wet towels on the radiators and regularly spray the seedlings with a spray bottle. However, we must not forget: young seedlings do not like overwatering. Otherwise, the sprouts may rot and mold will appear on the soil surface. Try to water the plants at the root with settled water infrequently - as the soil dries out. As a rule, it is better to water seedlings once every two to three days.
Seedlings of cabbage, beets, peppers and lettuce do not like crowded conditions. So don't forget about picking. Now many farms do not carry it out, trying to achieve an increase in yield. When growing seedlings indoors, you still can’t do without picking.

When sowing shallowly, the stem of the emerging plant often throws out seed scales. Because of this, the leaves may not unfold. If such a misfortune happens to your seedlings, sprinkle the seedlings with warm water and after a while carefully remove the scales.
In indoor conditions, seedlings very often stretch out. Therefore, when the first true leaf appears, add soil to the cotyledon leaves. And in order to prevent the stems from bending, regularly turn the seedlings towards the light. You can also place a large mirror near the boxes with seedlings. It will reflect light from the window and illuminate all the plants fairly evenly.

Don't forget to feed the seedlings. You must prepare complex fertilizer in advance. The first time you need to feed the seedlings is two weeks after picking and then at the same interval. For feeding, a solution of superphosphate is ideal, 30–40 grams of which should be diluted in ten liters of water. If the seedlings are weak, they can be fed with a solution of cow or bird droppings.
Young shoots are often susceptible to viral diseases. To prevent this, sprinkle it with skim milk in the phase of the first true leaf. To do this, dilute one glass of milk in one liter of water and add a couple of drops of iodine.
In addition, begin to gradually accustom indoor seedlings to lower temperatures. To do this, regularly ventilate the room where it grows. Otherwise, your seedlings will experience transplantation into the ground too painfully.
