It is believed that beauty contests were invented for slender models who did not have children and certainly never did housework.
It is believed that beauty contests were invented for slender models who did not have children and certainly never did housework. But modern women prove the opposite. And the annual competition for mothers “Mrs. Russia”, which took place recently, is an example of this.
Evgenia Kondratyeva is the winner of the Mrs. Russia 2008 contest. Over the course of seven competition days, she managed to prove to the jury her right to win, and helped us create a portrait of a modern supermom.
– Evgenia, you are a mother of two children, a wife and part-time businesswoman. How do you manage to combine everything?
- Very simple. Sport helps me. My day starts early - I take the children to school by 8. Then be sure to go to the pool for an hour. Whatever my condition, I go swimming. Water is a great tonic. And now I’m ready to work! I'm going to the office by 10. Then I plan my work day so that there is time left for the gym and dancing. In the evening I go home and cook dinner for my husband and children.
– How does your family maintain health?
– We have a good tradition - on Sundays we go to the bathhouse. And of course, we try to eat right. The best food is homemade. I try to do everything at home myself. So my husband feels that I am a housewife, and the children have plenty of time to study.
– If a child gets sick, what is the first thing you do?
– My children rarely get sick, but if something is wrong with them, first of all I measure their temperature and drink strong tea. Gargle sore throat with baking soda. We try to treat ourselves with herbs: chamomile for inflammation, sage to stop bleeding, calendula to calm the nerves.
– What advice could you give to mothers?
– The main thing is that the mother must be loving. If a young housewife doesn’t know how to do something, she can learn it over time. Everything comes with experience. And love is something that should reign in a family from its very birth. It seems to me that it is this feeling that makes us - me, my husband and children - truly strong.

Alla Markova, President of the Mrs. Russia 2008 contest: – A modern woman should be strong and weak, economical and glamorous, businesslike and domestic. But the main thing is that she must be able to give. Her warmth, her care - something that only she has. This is very important and not everyone succeeds. Sometimes even the most gorgeous beauties lack just this skill to be happy. Women, learn not only to take, but also to give and be happy!
Margarita Oganesyan, gynecologist-endocrinologist, doctor at the Euromed-S clinic, Moscow: – Every woman dreams of experiencing the moment of giving birth to a child, because this is a real gift of nature.
There was an interesting case: once a woman gave birth on New Year’s Eve while the chimes were striking. The baby was born, screamed and immediately fell silent. He opened his eyes wide and, like an adult, looked around, looked as if he himself realized how serious everything that was happening was. But this was his first “step” into life...
The stars speak And I’ll tell you about my mother... MakSim, singer: – My mother Svetlana Viktorovna is a very understanding and kind person. She always helped me in everything, developing my talents from childhood. At the age of 14, everything changed dramatically in my life: work in other cities, nightclubs. Mom was very worried. However, as now: I live in Moscow, and she lives in Kazan. Mommy misses me a lot, but knows that I love her very, very much.
Anna TEREKHOVA, actress: – I was mainly raised by my grandmother Galina Stanislavovna. But I always had the feeling that my mother, who was constantly either on the set or in the theater, was somewhere nearby. Mommy did everything so that I would not need anything and would not feel a lack of love. Whenever my mother had the opportunity, she took me to filming. I saw the admiration with which others looked at her, and I was very proud of her.
Marina DEVIATOVA, singer: – My mother Natalya Nikolaevna is an intelligent, kind and sympathetic person. The fact that she raised me alone did not stop her from making me a cheerful and independent person. By the way, dear men, the place of my mother’s son-in-law is still free. People say: if you want to see your wife in old age, look at her mother. So everyone can see what a good person she is, and therefore I am.
