Today almost everyone works on computers. And 80% of people feel tired eyes, and by the end of the working day, 75% experience visual fatigue, pain in the eyes and headaches. The number of people complaining to ophthalmologists about “poor vision” is growing by leaps and bounds.
Where is the exit?
“Special computer glasses!” - say experts. They supposedly contribute to the active restoration of the functional state of eye tissue, increase performance and relieve feelings of fatigue and drowsiness, and also reduce the perceived brightness of the screen to the required extent. Computer glasses have a modern frame, a stylish design that will not leave indifferent everyone who follows fashion trends.
Well, great! The solution has been found! But here’s a legitimate question: do they help?
Goal: to find out whether glasses protect against computers and what they protect against.
None of the specialists gave me a clear answer. They say this: “They probably help, but if a person does not work at the computer for a long time. But an office worker who is at the monitor from morning to evening still suffers from flickering, from the color scheme, from closely reading small text. Previously, we recommended such glasses to people who developed “computer syndrome,” but, according to their reviews, there was no effect. In general, you shouldn’t trust advertising.”
And yet I bought myself such glasses. What can I say? It has become easier to work, my eyes almost do not water, especially when you need to read text from the screen for a long time (more than an hour and a half), then doing this with computer glasses is noticeably more comfortable. In addition, glasses make it easier to work in poor lighting. But it is difficult to work with graphics in them due to color distortion. Overall, I am quite pleased with my glasses and use them for 3 hours a day, usually for reading and long, attention-demanding work with text.
Conclusion: computer glasses help, but not always and not for everyone. And this is by no means a panacea. But it is certain that in order to preserve your vision while working with a computer for a long time, you must follow several recommendations. Here they are:
1
A good, high-quality monitor, correctly configured (brightness, frequency, font size and color, etc.), purchased from an official dealer (you can compare prices of online stores in Russia on the website sravni.com ). It should be in front of you, not from the side, not from below. The center of the monitor is at eye level or slightly higher.
2
Good, proper lighting of the workplace. The light falls from the left (ideal if there is daylight (window) or a good lamp).
3
A good, comfortable chair (armchair): adjustable back (straight back), adjustable chair height (legs down and standing, knees bent 90%, arms bent elbows 90%).
4
Follow the operating hours. Take a break for 10 minutes every hour (your eyes need to rest).
5
Proper sleep and nutrition are mandatory for everyone (otherwise no monitor or glasses will help).
6
And of course, gymnastics for the eyes. Rotate your eyes a little, look into the distance, relax, then strongly squeeze and unclench your eyelids 5-10 times to increase blood flow. Regular exercises help a lot, for example, circular movements with your head, arms, or you can rub your neck in the spine area.
Tested for yourself!
