The first time I heard the word “radiculitis” was on TV in a children’s fairy tale. Baba Yaga constantly grabbed her back and screamed that he had tortured her! I started calling my brother, my computer science teacher, “radiculitis”... Everyone who didn’t let me live in peace! Until one day the disease came to me.

In the modern world, sciatica plagues both young and old. This is because the main provoking factor of the disease is osteochondrosis, a disease that occurs as a result of a sedentary lifestyle (mostly). Therefore, in order to avoid back problems, we, who like to sit in front of the computer and TV, need physical exercise. Otherwise, the muscles will be weak, and sciatica will appear (or return) at any moment.
You also need to follow certain rules...
So:
Do at least basic gymnastic exercises regularly and strengthen your muscles.
For example: starting position - lying on your back, bend your knees. Place your hands on your knees and pull your legs towards you. Then slowly turn your body left and right (5-10 times). This is a very good exercise for massaging the lumbar back.
Try not to make sudden movements.
Bend over correctly: the main load should fall on your legs - bend them, not your back.
The bed should not be too soft, and the pillow should be such that the neck and head are on the same plane.
Don't get too cold.
Avoid prolonged stress on the spine.
Get a massage - this is an excellent addition to both basic treatment and prevention. Use special creams for this.
Who can help with acute pain?
Contact an orthopedic traumatologist or neurologist. They will prescribe examinations: ultrasound, radiography, tomography (regular or computed tomography), magnetic resonance imaging (MRI), study of intervertebral discs, myelography (studies of the spinal cord and nerve roots), electrospondylography (ESG).
