The medicinal letter - popularly known as magpie, zolotnik, hashnik - is one of the most valuable and universal medicinal plants in the European part of Russia and the Urals. The plant is hard to miss: the purple-pink, two-lipped flowers, collected in spike-shaped inflorescences, are visible from afar and resemble bright holiday candles. The height of the stems is up to 1 m; they bear opposite oblong soft-pubescent leaves. For medicinal purposes, flowers or the entire aerial part in the flowering phase are harvested and quickly dried in the shade, with good ventilation of the room. The plant is contraindicated during pregnancy, severe hypotension, gastritis with zero acidity in the acute phase, acute vascular thrombosis.
