Do you know how our compatriots differ from foreigners? Ours don't smile.
Do you know how our compatriots differ from foreigners? Ours don't smile. When for the first time in my life I saw a Frenchman in a nightclub in Russia, I recognized him by the smile that lit up his face every time he met the gaze of someone present. My friend reacted like all normal Siberian girls: “Idiot”... When I came to France for the first time, I thought that all the people here were happy and carefree. Then it turned out that they were simply very well brought up, and they had no less problems. But at first, when even the French women smiled at me, I believed that the world was beautiful. And only when one of them (and I carelessly cut her off on the road) bared her teeth angrily, I, returning to reality, realized: here it’s the same as everywhere else. The mother of one of my friends, who married a Frenchman, once said that she was afraid for her son-in-law when he came to Russia. “You can immediately see from him that he is not from here! I always get nervous when he gets into the car with that idiotic smile of a taxi driver from the south with a bearded brunette.” And when I happen to translate at business negotiations between a Russian oligarchic structure and a large foreign company, the French side excitedly asks: “Is he dissatisfied with something?” But he just doesn't smile. How can you explain this to them? Some girls make incredible efforts when going to a club or restaurant. Two hours for makeup, hair, choosing a dress, jewelry, shoes and handbag. And at the same time they forget the main thing that will help them transform a gloomy bitch into a sweet charm - putting a smile on their face.
