On January 31, news will appear on STS for the first time in the channel’s history. But in an unexpected format - a television series.
Behind the intense plot and passions of the characters (a couple of TV presenters played by Danila Dunaev and Anastasia Makeeva), which are mandatory for a successful series, there is also a deep meaning. You won't find it everywhere. The series “News” will allow you to learn how television is made, see it behind the scenes and, perhaps, begin to have a different attitude towards what is heard on the screen.
The general director and co-owner of the TV channel on which the main events of the series unfold was played by Valery Barinov.
“My role is very interesting,” says the actor. – Mark Starodubtsev is an emotional person, infected with the idea of TV, cynical, not shy about any means to achieve his goals. But at the same time he is also vulnerable - he loves his daughter very much and is ready to do anything for her.
– Did you put your personal attitude towards TV into the character?
– It’s ambiguous for me. There are educational and sports programs that suit my tastes. But I have a hard time watching talk shows... I would like people to see that television is a weapon that is underrated by some and overrated by others. “News” takes a situation that is not entirely typical for our TV. But the not always honest methods that the fictional channel uses to attract viewers are similar to those used in reality.
