64-year-old Sofia Rotaru admitted that she had completely lost faith in her grandchildren.
Sofia Rotaru has said more than once that she really wants her grandchildren to follow in her footsteps. And now the 64-year-old singer admitted that she had completely lost this hope.
On the eve of her birthday, she announced that she had finally come to terms with the fact that her grandchildren had chosen their own path: 16-year-old Anatoly decided to become a DJ, and ten-year-old Sonechka would become a model.
The singer’s 16-year-old grandson, Anatoly, told his parents and grandmother two years ago that he did not want to receive higher education. The boy even decided to limit himself to nine grades of school, which shocked Sofia Mikhailovna.
“Mom always believed that higher education was sacred,” says Svetlana Evdokimenko, Rotaru’s daughter-in-law. “That’s why for some time there were disagreements between her and Anatoly, and we never call him Tolya.” But then we agreed that we still needed to finish school.
Now that the time has come for Anatoly to finish school, the question of college has arisen again. But now the grown-up grandson has firmly said his word: “I will go to DJ school and make a professional career!” Anatoly has had a passion for club music for a long time. Last New Year, his grandmother even gave him a real DJ setup with the coolest bells and whistles worth 50 thousand dollars. It was on it that Anatoly made his first compositions, including a joint song between him and his grandmother - it was his gift to her for the New Year.
Rotaru’s granddaughter Sonechka recently turned ten years old. She also decided on a profession. The girl has been leafing through glossy magazines for a long time and is delighted with Russian models who have made a career abroad - Natalia Vodianova, Milla Jovovich... “I want to be like them!” - Sonya said to her parents. As you know, in the modeling business you need to start early, because at twenty years old girls are already considered old ladies. Therefore, without thinking twice, the parents sent Sonechka to study at a modeling school. But once upon a time my grandmother dreamed of a second Sofia Rotaru appearing on stage...
“My main principle of raising my grandchildren is not to interfere with their development as nature intended,” says Sofia Mikhailovna. – I will never force them to do anything. Besides, I love them so much that I involuntarily begin to spoil them...
The singer really pampers Anatoly and Sonya a lot. When her grandchildren come to her Kyiv apartment, and Rotaru lives separately from her relatives, her house turns into either an Indian tent or a fairy-tale forest. Children play whatever they want, and grandma looks twenty years younger when she plays with them. And Sofia Mikhailovna’s gifts are truly gorgeous. She had already given jewelry to young Sonya more than once, and after each quarter, her grandchildren always had a trip abroad. Most of all they love to visit Disneyland Paris.
