The Investigative Committee and the Main Department of Internal Affairs of the Krasnodar Territory opened six criminal cases on corruption in the state corporation Olimpstroy. Between 2007 and 2010, lawbreakers illegally received more than 23 million rubles. All six cases involve fictitious employment of employees using false documents.
Interfax reports this:
In total, in Sochi in 2010, 27 criminal cases were initiated on corruption in the conclusion of contracts ( contract security ), 8 cases more than in 2009. This was stated by the head of the investigation department for the city of Sochi of the Investigative Committee of the Russian Federation for the Krasnodar Territory, Alexey Kramarenko. According to him, 11 cases have been initiated against employees of the Sochi administration, district internal affairs officers and officials of municipal institutions. In these cases, the amount of bribes amounted to more than a million rubles.
Earlier on January 31, it was reported that the head of Olympstroy, Taimuraz Bolloev, resigned. He will leave his post for health reasons. Since the existence of Olympstroy, it has already had three leaders: first, this position was held by the former head of Transneft, Semyon Vainshtok, and then by the ex-head of Sochi, Viktor Kolodyazhny. All three managers left Olimpstroy of their own free will.
"Olympstroy" was created to build infrastructure for the 2014 Olympics in Sochi. It is assumed that the state corporation will be disbanded after the Olympics.
