Golodets believes that the camp should become year-round.
On December 27, it became known that Olga Golodets appealed to Prime Minister Dmitry Medvedev with a request to allocate money to improve the infrastructure of the Seliger camp.
As RBC reports, according to Golodets’ plans, “Seliger,” which has the status of a summer youth camp, should be transformed into “a comfortable center where children can come at any time of the year .”
It is expected that warm residential buildings will be built on the territory of the camp, gas, water and electricity will be provided to them. Up to 800 people will be able to stay in the camp at the same time.
It should be noted that the Seliger summer camp was created in 2005. It is located in the Tver region on the shores of Lake Seliger, which gave it its name. Until 2008, it was a closed camp for young commissars of the political pro-government movement "NASHI". Since 2009, as stated on the website, any representative of “active youth” can become its participant.
