Medicinal properties
Blood red geranium has strong astringent, analgesic, anti-inflammatory, antiseptic and hemostatic properties. An infusion of herbs and roots is used for diarrhea (including severe in children), dysentery, acute and chronic enterocolitis, stomach and duodenal ulcers, and any internal bleeding (pulmonary, uterine, hemorrhoidal).
It has the remarkable property of dissolving salt deposits in the body, therefore it is used in the treatment of kidney stones, gout, arthritis and arthrosis, rheumatism, and osteochondrosis. And the flavonoids and anthocyanin dyes contained in the flowers and roots have a pronounced anti-cancer effect, which is why blood-red geranium is included in many complex preparations for the treatment and prevention of cancer.
