I don’t know if anyone besides us is preparing this multi-layered culinary fireworks, but on our holiday table, a salad with a delicate spring name is very popular. Traditionally, they buy a jar of pink salmon in its own juice or oil and collect it on the eve of the main day of the year, so that it has time to brew, the layers to soak in, and the flavors to marry. Another traditional thing for us is to save all the best for the New Year. It is on this instinct that I want to play and encourage you to prepare this salad in an unconventional way, using what seems to be the same set of ingredients, but of a different format and quality. Those who trust and do as I persuade will be rewarded with a salad of incredible taste, which will fly off the table first, leaving traditional Olivier and fur coat as outsiders.
“Fish” translated from English means “fish”. The trick of the salad is also fish;) Move away from the cans of pink salmon, move away, whoever they tell you to! Buy 300–400 g of trout. And we will steam it. Yes, since such a drinking party has begun, be sure to choose sweet carrots, farm eggs, cream cheese, and make homemade mayonnaise. Are you ready for exploits? Let's go!
Ingredients:
Boil the carrots, remove and let them cool.
If you don’t have an aunt, then you won’t lose her... What am I talking about? Oh yes! If you don't have a steamer, you don't have to rush headlong to the hardware store. Place the washed, dried, salted pieces of fish in a colander, the bottom of which is lined with foil, place it on a saucepan with boiling water, cover with a lid and cook in this way for 20–25 minutes.
Peel the steamed fish, carefully remove all the bones and break into pieces with a fork. It will be so tender that it will languidly fall apart into pieces from your lightest touch.
Have you boiled the eggs? Remember the maxim of the Roman Senate? Divide and conquer! Divide them into whites and yolks and enjoy your health! Also dominate carrots and cheese. Peel the carrots and grate them and the cheese (separately) on a coarse grater.
Since it’s a holiday, let’s make serving the salad festive. It looks very beautiful assembled in a culinary ring. When you remove the ring, on the plate there is a perfectly even tower with perfectly even, bright, beautiful stripes of layers: white protein, salmon-coral layer of trout, bright orange of carrots, creamy yellow of cheese and finally - a fluffy yellow cap of finely grated yolk.
If you don’t have an aunt (crossed out) culinary ring, it doesn’t matter. Take an ordinary plastic bottle, and you will have happiness and a culinary ring in one bottle, all you have to do is cut off the neck and bottom. Well, why are you up? If we advance at this pace, I won’t get to the airfield. Collect your salad! The order is announced, soak each layer with mayonnaise - and aha! Attention! A tender and lyrical toast was born. How boring we live! The spirit of adventurism disappeared in us, we stopped climbing into the windows of our beloved women, we stopped doing big, good stupid things. Let's definitely be healthy in the coming year and do stupid things. Big and good!
Happy holiday, friends!
