Like the east of our state, he knows it only from the reports of his officers. Putin needs to sell his public a big victory to shore up support within Russia. He has elections in September, he needs a united society that will support his United Russia. Putin needs to show his muscles, but he has no muscles on the battlefield. Therefore, due to the lack of real success, he resorts to intimidating Ukraine with massive strikes. There is no victory. There will be no victory.
